BMW 0W-40
I just saw this posted at F80 section. Was wondering if anyone tried or planning to try this.

I can't imagine running this oil will give you any problems (unless you're the ones who only swears by 10w60 TWS or the now new BMW M Twin Power Turbo 10w60).
Many have used M1 0w40 with no ill effect, so running this should be fine. Maybe you should give it a try and do a couple of UOA for us to see xD Question then will be, since we are deviating from BMW's recommendation to use the 10w60, why would you stick with BMW oil when M1 (and other reputable brands) is more readily available at a fraction of the cost? Cheers!

It's probably just repackaged Pennzoil Ultra 0w40/Shell Helix 0w40, which is a decent oil (and available on Amazon for $7/qt). Those have HTHSV of 3.68, making them about 3% thinner than M1 0w40 in operation. TBN is >10, making it fine for longer drain intervals.
I suspect it would work fine.
