Question about steering wheel feedback

So I'm not sure if this was always there on my m3 because I went over a month without driving it and when I drove it yesterday, I noticed that there were very slight vibrations coming through when going straight at any speeds with my hand firmly on the wheel.

I drove my van the other day and my tires are all out of balance so I know how that feels but it didn't feel like tires were unbalanced. The vibrations were very very slight.

I was driving my f30 for a while and being that its much more numb, and going back to the m it felt like a huge diff.

I can't remeber if they were always there and I'm noticing them again or if something is wrong. My rear tires are new but the fronts are almost gone, maybe 10% left at best. Would balding tires cause more vibrations in the steering or is this just road feedback?

Yes, less tread equals less isolation. Put on new tires and it will be smoother. I however hydraulic rack from BMW does transmit more road feel. Drove 2012 z4 and smoother but less feedback from the tires

I had vibration through the steering wheel at around 80mph with worn front tires. Thought I needed an alignment, but everything was nice and smooth after I switched out the tires. But you probably would have noticed any vibration before....

BTW, why so many 3 series cars in the stable? Do you drive all of them or are they family member's cars.

I drive them all with the exception of the 328i, some times. That's my wife's dd and I drive it when we take her car. Two of them are my company cars. I basically rotate each car for a week so the m3 rotation comes every 3- 4 weeks. E36 my hobby toy

How long does it take for flat spots to work out? How many miles usually? Felt the vibes for at least 70 miles

Do I know you? What's with the copying and pasting of my posts on a few threads?
