hahahhaa.... I have a 330 6MT and an S2K. No chance brodda. Take it on the twisties and then it's worse.

We dyno'ed the E90's yesterday and I dyno'ed the S. I'm putting out practically (-3HP) the same HP numbers as a 330 6MT with a fraction of the weight. Do what I did instead... buy both!

EDIT: All S2K's are manual trannies... no electronic goo-dads... no traction control, etc. Bare bones spirited driving machines.

I've tried a couple S2K's on the track vs. my modified G35 and have yet to beat one. I believe I could with a few more mods, but you get my point. In my 2002 330i, no chance. The low weight and the ease with which they get the revs up makes them quick cars.

'06's have been dumbed down. That's the down syndrom of the S2K. Hard core = AP1 ~9k RPM. AP2 ~8.2k RPM sweeeeet spot... it.

2000 is a hot car. I test drove one and I didn't like the feel of sitting in a hole. And the center stack felt too high for me. I just couldn't find a comfortable driving position.

Yeah, it would spank your Bimmer, Kat!

Why did you remove the carbon filter?

test drove the S2k hard a few years back. Loved it for the marvel of an engine it is, if i recall 120 hp per liter!!

But, if i recall, it wasn't torquey, you really had to rev it up, which wasnt a big deal since it went to 9k, but overall i wasn't that impressed for some reason.

You test drove the original version that was manufactured till '03. From '04 on they increased engine displacement to 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 which resulted in more usable torque. The downside, if you will, is that redline is reached at 8,200 RPM instead of 9k. They did this to cater to the North American market. Rest of world, if I remember, still uses the original 2.0 engine. And yes HP is 240.
