In vegas. Only 7 laps but holy shit it felt awesome.
Must put my kw cs on full stiff now and power button on always LOL I think i just made my decision on jumping into a dct car now (yikes!!) Video...could have gone faster with some more laps. Still damn fun! Last edited by pkimM3r; 02-03-2014 at 07:20 PM.. |

Exotics Racing right? I did that back in November! I drove the 458, superleggera, and gtr. Best/worst experience ever, everything I have driven since then has been a pig!

How was the class before the drive? I'm considering this as a 21st B-Day gift for my son.......Phil

430 Scuderia in 2011 at Exotics Racing for me. Needless to say it was an awesome experience.

It would be boring for you Phil but for a novice it's fine. It's mostly "do's and don'ts." I'm taking my oldest son to Vegas next year when he's 21 also but never thought to take him there until your suggestion. Thanks Phil!

My son is a "mini" gearhead" right now. He's into modding Civic's currently but wants to get another Miata for track purposes. I've had him on track with me and the stud refused to get car sick. I've even had him ride with some of our instructors and he was tough as nails. So I think he's earned a few laps of his own. I want him to enjoy the speed in the correct environment......not at the damn stop lights. I'll be sure to report back after the trip ........Phil

Got a hookup from a friend. Scheduled for 930am but of course partied till 6am and missed it. Got there at 1!
They said what happened? I said you know what happened haha. Overall experience was short but fun. Was it worth it? Id say yes for just a short while. I wouldnt do more than 2 cars and pay $1000. But for $500 wow. Again, i need dct now |

I'm a manual guy but in that car the transmission was great. They had the new stingray there but in the autotragic. Wish they had a gt3 in manual i would have driven that too. |

I decided to get a dct after driving my father-in-laws F430, at the time I had a 6mt 335. I haven't regretted it. I would say the BMW dct is actually better!

The F430's box is quite a bit better than the E46's SMG, however (as i'm sure you know) the M3 and 458's DCT are on a completely different level. |

And the F12 and 458 Speciale are even faster than the regular 458(just by a bit) thanks to different software. Those two are just insane. The F12 is a monster. Scared the crap out of me!

Reportedly, the 991GT3 is better yet; best to date for any production car as stated by some with early deliveries. I'll know in a few months. I love manuals and loved the 6 speed in my .2 GT3. However, with these new engines becoming more and more rev happy with stratospheric red lines, a manual may fall short, imo. I did not like PDK in the Carrera. Others feel the same. GT3 DCT different story. Same will occur will other cars in the near future. I know some die hard manual guys who would not take a manual over the DCT in the 991GT3.

Similar situation, drove an F430 and Lambo Gallardo and while those cars were awesome, made me really appreciate the engine and feel of the M3. While obviously not in the same league, the M3 is pretty damn good for a front engine, RWD sedan.
