Clunking when getting on/off the gas. Differential noise?

My dealer just changed the diff fluid and now I notice that there is a distinct clunking noise when I'm just moving at slow speeds (less than 20 MPH) and getting on or off the gas in 1st gear. Is that the diff noise everyone talks about where I need to get the additive put into the diff fluid or is this something else?

Might be the differential bolt coming loose/breaking. It happens every now and then on our cars.

yea i had this issue. i thought my diff was going to fall out lol.. jus bring it to dealer tell them you were driving in traffic and all of the sudden you started hearing this. They will ask if you were doing launches or serious burn outs... the obvisous ans would be no and it should be covered under warrenty

Are we talking clunking and super jerky when letting on/off the gas even though you're trying to be super smooth?

I will have to investigate this as my car is doing something similar at 6000 miles, and I don't recall it being that way new. Thanks

I just checked the torque on the two front bolts/nuts and they were loose. Not HAND loose mind you, but not at the proper torque. I torqued them to spec (68 nm or 58 ft/lbs) and will head home in a few. I will report back with an update on how she drives when I get home.

Well I am happy to say that was all it was. The degradation of driveability was very gradual, but when I started making apologies to my wife for sending her all over the place, I thought something was up.
