service reminder

So I got my CPO E93 back in June of 2017. At that time, I also got an oil change and brake flush before they shipped the car. When I checked status on my car's computer, it said reminder coming Feb 2018.

Well, March is here, I've driven it about 1500 miles since last June, and I surely don't need an oil change or brake fluid change. I called the dealer and they said they can reset the FOB if I swing by.

Other than going to the dealer, can this only be done if the owner has Icarly?

Just remember that brake fluid is hydroscopic, which is part of the reason that it needs to be changed at regular intervals...

Funny you should mention that. When I had my vert PPI'd at ABR Houston prior to purchase, they said the water content exceeded the threshold.

The dealer "did the same test" and said it met spec, so they refused to change out the brake fluid. I ponied up the money and had them do it, and this was back in June 2017.

Is there an easy way to check for water content in the break fluid?
Is there anywhere a document stating at what point the fluid needs to be replaced other than by age?
All I know is hat it is recommended by age, basically assuming there is too much water in it. It should depend on the humidity where the car is operated, or not?

If there is an easy way to check for water content that would give us at least the possibility to check if the change was done at all.
Wouldn't be the first time that a dealership (not only bmw) charges for services done that were never performed.
