8:07 if I am correct.......but be careful, by tomorrow morning you will get half-a-dozen replies with the icon plastered all over the place (this subject has been discussed in great detail).
Hope that info helps.....

I really have to wonder if that's the best that they could do, I expect a better time than that. Do you think they just gave it one or two good runs and haven't tried again? Some listings put the RS4 at 7:58 though I can't find proof that Frank Stippler actually made that time.
Here's another list.

The folks who did the 8:05 may have only been able to do a one or two good runs, I don't know, but that seems plausible. You would think that if the GT-R did, what, 7:38?, in the rain, then Nissan would want to go back and try it again under better conditions. They probably do, but maybe they just don't think that reserving the track and all the other costs is worth it. I could be all wrong about this, but I'm thinking that under different conditions the M3 can do better than 8:05 at the ring.

8:05 is the official #....but the E46 CSL did a 7:50.....& the standard E46 M3 did 8:22.... Since the RS4 is under 8 minutes, I also think an M3 can break 8 minutes by a little bit

officiall time for RS4 is 8.09 min and its a sportauto time. Time 8.05 min for M3 is also a sportauto time. Both times done with the same driver which is crucial when comparing cars with others.

Word... I have not seen a sub 8min time for the RS4. The E92's time is a huge improvement over the E46 M which is about all we can ask for....

Put some R-compounds on it and you'll shave 15-20 seconds easily.
An even more important question is what lap time can you do in your car (M or other), what someone else can do doesn't matter really unless that person is the one driving you around day to day, which would be no fun. I did a 10:45 in a 95hp B class Mercedes on snow tires

I'm not doubting the expertise of the folks saying this however it seems as if softer tires would be worth more than .5 seconds per mile. As a comparison at Watkins Glen R compounds are good for 1-2 seconds per mile. I'm not an expert, just my thoughts.

Its funny how much we all quote certain track times, like the ring.....whats even funnier is I doubt there is anyone on this list with enough experience on the ring that they could come even remotely close to the 8:05 time, just from not driving the ring hundreds of times like most the test drivers do!!!!
I just like to know what my car is capable of IF I was capable of driving that well!!

new caddy cts-v did it in 7:59.....supposedly production sedan record according to autoblog...
new csl NEEDS to be announced already.... especially with the simliarly priced gtr wiping the fucking floor with the m3 and everything within $100k of its price.....vspec on the way too... enough with the frilly convertibles and showy bullshit, if youre gonna have motorsport in the goddamn cars name give the purists a real fucking beast. m3 is a hell of a machine and its engine is a marvel, but imo, the new m3 should really be named 340i. |

the Ring is 95 mph, that's pretty fast... a lot of straights... a lot of turns are banked also...high speeed sweepers... and depends on the weather and driver skill... they are saying the GTR did 7:29 on street tires (I don't believe it) 3900/480/street tires/???? 2700/650/semi-slicks/a racing driver... same time... my point is, if it picked up 2 sec/mile due to tires it would be doing ~7 flat |
