When they're doing the emissions test with the tree hugger, regular gas has 6PPM of hydrocarbons, premium gas is at 6.1PPM, at time 14:21

I was under the impression that sunoco 93 was high quality gas... Guess I'll start making a 10 minute longer trip to shell :

Only Shell. Will do Mobil if there's no Shell nearby.

On my old daily driver E90, I wasn't as picky but probably did Shell/Mobil 80% of the time.

I couldn't believe how amazingly stupid the dyno test was. Put it in cruise control at 70MPH and they were expecting one gas to change the amount of power needed to maintain that speed? The gas doesn't change rolling resistance! Amazingly stupid video.

The one truth is that cars that require only regular gas don't benefit from higher octane, but they used the most ridiculous logic to prove it.

Also, I don't know ANYONE with a car that calls for 87 that puts anything but in their car. Where do these people come from? Lastly, every gas station I've ever paid at the counter usually says "regular?" presumably before I correct them with 93.

Lately, I've been going to Spinx right across work. Mostly because it's ethanol free. Otherwise, I use Exxon.

Use Techron/Star Tron before oil change at 7500.

BP invigorate but no BP on the west coast. I Heard Chevron is good, too.

I didn't watch the episode but saw a preview on CBC news with that guy who owned the Vette. He said that particular car calls for premium fuel but he fills up with regular 87 anyway because the car's ECU is smart enough to detect knock and prevent that from happening. True, but at the expense of power. wtf he drives a Vette for? Retarded!

He was talking about regular cars not performance cars I think ... he uses regular gas in his vette ... it is his car and he can do as he wishes.

My first M3 was a e46 2002 I used regular gas and every 4th fill up I used premium and i worked fine for me ... I am still in touch with the fellow that purchased this M3 it now has over 100,000 Miles on it and still runs like a charm. This car never had any engine problems the only repairs were replacement of both rear springs.

I think the entire program was made to educate the public that drive none performance cars to not believe the bullshit they are told like a) better performance, b) cleaner engine and c) better gas milage like in one of the test ... where one Gas Station Attendant said "for this car use regular gas" the next one said "use the middle grade tour engine stays cleaner" and finally the third one said "the premium gas you get better gas milage"

All grades by law must contain cleaning solutions to maintain emission standards in North America ... Bottom line everyone should do what he/she feels is right and by all means follow the OEM's instructions as can be found on the label inside the filler access cover or in the owners manual.

Pure Gass

I use Triangle in North Carolina, 100% non-Ethanol, pure Gas, and twice a year or every 6k miles I put BMW Fuel System Cleaner in the tank! Engine runs strong and fast, no complains!

I did european delivery and I spoke with both my delivery agent and the paperwork agent on petrol and they both had the same speech: don't bother buying more than 91 as the engine won't know the difference and it'll be a waste of money.

I don't know enough to have an opinion on it and can only buy 91 here anyway, but that's what they said.

How is it they still sell pure gas commercially?.. I thought it was EPA federal requirement that all gas being sold was supposed to now be e10.

I would love to find non-ethanol gas..other than buying race gas its just not available in the Northeast

For some reason, I had a stigma against mobil gas for awhile and would avoid it. I wouldn't avoid it like I avoid arco, but it wasn't my first choice. Guess it's a top quality gas though.

Whatever gas station is closest when I am running out of gas. In CO, the highest we can get is 91 octane.
