It's a class 6 card... so 6 MB/s?

I personally don't own one but I literally know 8 different people that do. When I need one, I just borrow one lol. They are a lot of fun. I would buy one if I didn't have access to so many.

The coolest video I saw was with the GoPro attached to the lower end of the front bumper; right in front of the FMIC.

Then he made a couple laps with the cam on the roof; then mixed it up and made a montage.

You could see the track from pretty much every angle.

It was acceptable. The buffer isnt clearing as fast as it would do if you would be using only one UHS-1, but keep in mind you have to shoot in RAW+Basic JPG on the second memory slot.

I'm pretty sure its faster if you shoot with only one card; being the Eye-Fi.

I know you can get it cheaper, but to "try" something, BB or FS are the best because when you dont like it, you just have to return it. And when you do; well I consider the price premium an insurance.

For the record, I bought mine used. Also, dont buy the 4gb before you compare the features and are sure you're ok with it.

On the 5D3, I guess you can always save the RAW photos to the faster CF card, and the jpgs (which can be much smaller) to the EyeFi SD, and have that SD transfer over to your iPad via wifi. It's better anyways, since the iPad loads RAWs more slowly and RAW files take up more space.

I'll have to try it out.

Exactly. Transfering 20-30mb raw files to ipad or computer would take forever.

Took about one minute in direct mode and maybe 3-4 minutes in wifi mode. Not what I was looking for.

For what I want, the quality of the file and its editing properties doesnt matter. So basic JPG was fine.

I would edit files on Ipad tho, just because using sliders with fingers shouldnt be as accurate as a mouse; but I would have to try. For now, I only use it as a secondary and wider LCD display for previews.

iPhoto or Adobe Photoshop Express.

You can even use Instagram or a million other similar apps.

this is making editing on my computer seem like a good option;

1, the files from the mkIII are pretty big to be sending wirelessly through something that probably won't be able to send with efficiency while simultaneously killing the battery.

2, my tv screen is a nice size and has great colour for editing

3, won't take up unnecessary space on my ipad

4, don't have to deal with finger controls

5, not really willing to compromise editing a raw file for a jpeg just so i can have the feature

6, and mouse/pen and pad control on the computer will be more precise.

still could be fun

also, I took my first photo on the Ipad yesterday, and I instantly deleted it, I couldn't look at the noise, and it's not like the room was dark.

Exactly; this could be very fun and a very cheap project.

But you're spot on on the battery issue. But with the battery grip handy, its less of an issue.

Which one do you have? The new ipad (3) got the same camera as the Iphone 4S; which is really good.

But the one I have (Ipad 2), is really a sub-par phone camera which match your description of noise levels.

New Ipad, I had back lighting going on from the window behind however, so that probably screwed with everything. But still, could tell it wasn't a DSLR sensor

I'll try again sometime. I also assume it works 100x better outdoors too.

as for battery pack on the camera, I haven't had one on one of my professional level cameras yet, but I loved it when I had it on my T1i way back in the day. It make portrait photography fun I should look into another.

You can literally put it where ever you want. Hood, roof, bumpers, doors, trunk, windows, etc. You'll have to play with it to get the right angle. Also, don't hope to get amazing sound out of it. You'll hear the wind mostly. Best way to get sound is to mount it on your rear bumper right by the exhaust. But then you really won't be able to video tape what's in front of you.

Make sure you buy the GoPro Hero 2. I think it's like $60 more but it's a much better camera.

This is what I do for pretty much the same reasons. I do sometimes edit on a powerful 64-bit laptop, but I can't get the laptop's monitor properly calibrated and I end up redoing the best images on my desktop when I return from vacation.

I've been dealing with huge RAW and pretty large jpeg files for a few years now and went to two external 2TB hard drives (one at home and the other at work and synchronized monthly). My library is around 1TB now even though I delete more than 90% of my clicks.

don't skimp on the tripod if you have a good camera, otherwise you'll regret it later.

I have one where the legs like to retract at random. This is why I have a better one now. Lesson learned
