LS power plant in BMW would be amazing, partnership will probably produce silly and not fun things though. I don't know why you guys rip on GM, they've been tearing up the turbo 6 world since the 80s.

NO!
I'd rather see a partnership with Ford... They at least are making progress with their engine program and make things people want.

Embarrasing to say the least...
you have got to be flipping kidding me.
BMW to affiliate, especially on a publicly mentioned level is disgusting. There is a reason anyone with at least 1 working brain cell buys an import, regardless of which brand. BMW owners are distinguished consumers that don't accept garbage like the 3 Stooges have been making for the past 20 years. |

All brand snobbery aside, Ford's been kicking butt lately.

Interesting idea of them working together on engines.
Agree with much of the sentiment here that BMW should be partnering with Ford rather than GM, they are much closer aligned in terms of technology and engineering. Not to mention Ford is in a much better financial position than GM is. I like the idea of being able to buy BMW engines or engine components for cheap in 10-15 years time as they are all in GMs or Fords haha. |

Yeah, even as they know how bad their German built HPFPs can be, and how solid the 328i is with the GM AT Pride is sometimes an over-rated thing.

...... I just dont want to see the company diluted to to point they are in the trouble GM is in...
..there is something special about smaller, well built, non obsessed with expansion companies.... granted even Ferrari "grew" into Gruppo Ferrari ... ...I second earlier comments on comaprisons to Chrystler and MB, its just too big.. Agan, this is just engine sales not merger, also case in point Opel Omega B

So much blind perception based image snobs in here it is not even worth it to even try to correct them......
All I bet will happen is BMW providing diesel engines for GM to use( and maybe the V10 or V12 engines). Although I wouldn't mind a Small Block V8 in a BMW( the only engine BMW would have a use for considering they will hopefully never ditch the I6). |
