What widths for 20" HREs?

What would be the ideal widths for a set of 20" HREs? Based on conversations with HRE, I can go up to 20x9 in the front and 20x11 in the back for an E92 M3 coupe, but I think this might be too aggressive. Should I do 20x8.5 F and 20x10.5 R? Would the larger widths severely add to understeer?

I am planning on running Michelin PS2s in 245/30/20 F and 295/25/30 R. Would it looked stretched with a 20x9 F and 20x11 R?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The proper size is 20x9 F 20x10.5 R - that is the spec we are going with for a customers M3 and recommended by HRE as well. 11s will not fit.

20x8.5 F 20x10.5 R is a big width difference and may cause unwanted understeering which might compromise the handling performance.

HRE has confirmed that 20x11 will fit in the rear. How much understeer will be caused by using a 20x9 F 20x11 R setup versus a 20x9 F and 20x10.5 R setup? I thought I even saw someone on the forum running 20x8.5 F and 20x11 R.

Is that the setup I'm going with as well?

Richard,

The DPE LS series is a 2pc construction and its only available in 20x8.5 F 20x10 R as a standard size.

The 20x9 width is only if people have the option to opt for the 10.5 in the rear.
