To explain, the stock rear tailpipe section on each side is reused with the new muffler. Since they are welded to the original muffler, they must be cut off, and then attached to the Eisenmann with clamps or by welding. I have some pics of this at home the IND supplied I will post.
Greg, thanks buddy...great explanation.

For example the accelleration with the microphone near the exaust created a lot of distorsion when I registered it with the Eisenmann installed..and I didn't put it into the clip.

Also the distorsion starting at minute 3:21 is not real....

Anyway, very deep sound. enought for me.

Nice, Pacific Motorsports is a great shop. Do you know if they have representation on this board? I also heard that one of the main guys there just started his own business...

Eisenmann Sport Performance - Super sound!

I must admit I was getting a little jaded after 4 months and 3,500 miles with my M3. The newness was wearing off. I must say, this Eisenmann exhaust has changed that--it's what should have come from the factory! The sound level and tone is PERFECT, IMO. It's deeper and throatier, but not at all obnoxious or droning. Unfortunately it may impact my fuel mileage, since I now like to hear the car rev more; but, even at lower revs it sounds great!

List price is $2,839. Nate at IND (distributor for Midwest & West) can direct you to retailers. Construction & fit seem first rate. Tip size: 76mm stock, 83 mm Eisenmann (20 % larger in area). Weight: 43.7# stock; 46.3# Eisenmann.

Pacific Motorsports in Portland did the installation. They welded the pipes to the unit reather than using the supplied clamps because they thought the clamps resulted in a little leakage.

I'm in love with my new again car!

(White balance on these first couple shots is screwed up):

Nice Greg! I was waiting for your feedback on this, lol Glad to hear you approve.

One thing though, did you notice the difference in install from yours and CatchM3's above?

There is about 3 to 4 inch difference in the length of the pipe tips.

I wonder if this is due to the welding that you had done; or if this is a Race vs. Sport difference?(I ordered Sport too)

The tips will stick out around 1.5cm on the E90 sedan. Also we the car is at full running temp on all models E90/92/93 the tips will expand about 1 inch. Eisenmann designed the tips with a 20 degree angle cut to accommodate all models.

I noticed that, although I think the difference is no more than 2". Personally, I like the "tucked in" fit, which is more like stock.

I honestly love how the tips stick out on the E90. Very aggressive look. The video I posted does no justice on how incrediable my car sounds in person. Im looking into the supersprint x-pipe for my next mod. I don't know what else to say that has already been said about this exhaust system. Absolutely no regrets.

If the tips stick out that far out can you get burned unloading stuff from the trunk?

maybe but personally I don't see myself getting burnt and I have been unloading stuff out of my trunk all day today.

Active Autowerkes E90 exhaust system tips also stick out:

But IMHO, there is absolutely no comparison when it comes to sound quality between the two mufflers and I've heard the AA E90 personally. I'm not knocking down AA in anyway, it's just a matter of preference. Eisenmann is definitely much throatier sound and just sounds MEAN! It really brought my car alive.

On a side note. I called AA and left messages inquiring about pricing and availability on their system but i never got a reply nor a call back. I was somewhat disappointed about that, especially from someone who have spent more than 9K in the past. They dropped the ball. Anyway, I don't mean to steer off topic.

I am very pleased with the outcome

Either looks great!

If it was somewhere right in the middle(ie. right behind the logo) that would be perfect.

Cant wait for mine to get here, thanks IND!

I like Greg W's tucked and neat OEM type look. I hope that mine fit the same when they arrive. Catch M3's look okay to but not my preference! I had a similar experience with my other car and it just bothered me that the tips stuck out far too much. Anybody else have this experience with their 08 M3 exhaust fitment?

I also like the tucked in look, any views on mounting would be appreciated.

Protruding tips look a little wrong IMO

Here is a photo of the tip length on ShadeM3's E92 M3 before we installed his rear diffuser. It seems there is a little difference in the length depending on the installer.

That's what I'm talking about Shade's is exactly how i'm going to request mine to be set up(right behind the logo).

All personal pref, but either look really does look clean....one is just a bit more aggressive.

Thanks for the feedback Nate & IND!

True. It's all about personal preference

Guys make sure you let the installer know where you want the tips to be positioned. When we install the system at IND our installer always has us come out and take a look before completing the install.

Just for comparison. Here is a photo of our E92 M3 before we installed the Vorsteiner rear diffuser.
