Need some advices
Ok, here is the story. My fiancé's brother came to town. He stayed at our place for a day. Later he asked me if he could borrow my car for a day. I really don't want to, but kind of have no other option or excuses. When he returned my car, I noticed this curb rash on my right front wheel.I never had any ding on my rims for two years.I usually park in the garage. Now this happened. Nevertheless I was pissed. I was gonna unleash hell on him, but I stopped myself. I was wondering if it is too soon to show him my true color?
The picture is taken when I swapped my 19 inch zcp for 18inch preparing for a track day event.

Talk to him about it. but dont unleash hell. Reason why I dont let others burrow certain cars. If I have no choice, its either I drive them around or make them wait till I can or rent him or her a $30 rental car.

Being that he's family, probably not the best idea to unleash hell. It's just a rim at the end of the day. He's family. Calm down, then talk to him about it.

Save the fight with the wife, pay the $400 and buy a new wheel, or get that one repaired. I feel for you. I'd be pissed too. Perhaps he had no idea that he curbed it either.
Often when they drive cars that are less sentitve to these type of things (e.g. low ground clearance, wheels with no margin for error, etc.), they don't adjust their driving style when in a more sensitive car. I'd say try and get it repaired first, and if you don't like how it turns out, go and buy a new wheel, but don't say anything to him, and just let it be water under the bridge. |

I say just talk to him about it. Ask him if he did it. He'll more than likely deny it but just say it wasn't there before. Get it repaired and move on, don't dwell on it for too long

I'd be pissed too. However, do not unleash hell. Calm down before asking politely. At the end of the day it's just a wheel that can be easily repaired/replaced. I hope you have learned the lesson: Never let someone borrow your car.

There is no point in confronting him, either politely or otherwise. If he were a gentleman and knew he did it, he would have volunteered he screwed up and offered to fix it. Otherwise, he either didn't know he did it, or doesn't care if he did do it. Let it go, welcome to the world of the extended family. I suggest a nice refreshing martini and a Cuban cigar. It works for me.
