I don't clean the rotors and with PFC pads, I didn't even bother bedding them in unless they were brand new.
With bedding in CarboTech pads, if you do it right, you'll notice they start fading quite a bit towards the end. After the cool off period, they're great. I still don't know how people use XP12 and XP10s. XP12s only lasted me 3 days while I get more out of XP20s.

Have you had it before? You might get more days out of it with the higher temp compound.

Ok should I not have gotten xp10s all around? Haven’t installed them yet… I ran ds1.11s and didn’t love the pedal feel. Wanted to try something different. Track only, not super concerned about longevity, just performance.

FWIW, I used to be a PFC enjoyer and religiously used their pads, but my boss/phenomenal racer suggested trying Gloc pads which will happen soon. (placed 3rd in Carrera cup and won the 25hrs of Thunderhill).
We use them on all six of our spec miatas and everybody loves them. He is a dealer so he is biased but I was complaining to him about pad prices and availability for my Z54 kit, he brought up Glocs as an alternative. I have been on PFC 08s F/R and 11s F/R and loved them, so hopefully the glocs will be even better. On a different note, another team I work with uses the PFC 331/332 combo for their spec E46s and they love them. So many options with brake pads, I wish grassroots did a comparison with PFC/Pagid/Gloc/Carbotech/Raybestos/Porterfield/Ferodo on a miata or something |

Went to autobahn cc yesterday with the Chicago bmwcca group, which was a lot of fun. Less fun — someone in an e92 m3 threw a rod at T6 and showered the corner with oil. Black e92, gold bbs rims. Anyone we know? I didn’t see him on the track, just the car sitting later.

The local PCA chapter has a Road America event in mid-June I’ll be at. Looks like a 2010 M3 is registered but doesn’t appear to be a local. Check it out, details are on the Club Registration site.

Are they letting non-Porsches in that one? Last event they held up there was p-car only… but I’ll take a look!

Yeah same. Really want to know what happened to this one, but I’m budgeting on having to build a motor in the next year or two if I keep going with this.

I recently sold my stoptech ST60 and ST40 kit. I still have a few sets of PFC brake pads left if anyone is interested.
- one complete set of PFC 08 pads. About 80% left - second complete of PFC 08 pads. About 40% left - one complete set of PFC z-rated pads. About 75% left I can send exact pad thickness measurement for those who are interested. |

Question Getting back into track days with my father again after doing Gridlife time trials years ago. Plan so far is try to get as much front camber as I can up front until I go to B16 coilovers. 18x9.5 Apex wheels with 265/275 Pilot Sport 4S Motul 600 fluid PFC Z pads / Stoptech ST60 kit up front. With the E92 M3 being around 300 pounds heavier than my Subaru do you see substantially less life and chunking out of PS4S ? |

you'll probably kill the ps4s faster than the subaru would. but that just depends on your pace and tire pressure management.
