E93 M3 owners- where is the wind deflector located?

I've searched everywhere in my car for the wind deflector and can't seem to find it.

The manual says it's located in the cargo bay but I can't seem to locate it.
Any help?

I don't think it's included with the car. I think you need to purchase it seperately. Don't you love your E93?

Yes I love it!
But in the manual it says it should be located in the cargo bay.
I can't find it as an accessory on bmw.com

The manual includes instructions for all available options. The fact they are options is usually indicated with an asterisk. The wind deflector is one of those, but the mounting points are std in the E93.

Do you know that when fitted you can't have passengers in the back seats?

$549 at my dealer. EBAY has a buy it now for $390.

I noticed the E93 doesn't have that much air with the windows all up and going 80mph. Much better than the E46 where I had to buy the wind deflector.

I do understand that you can't have rear passengers with the deflector up.
It's just my wife and I currently so that's not an issue.

I initially considered buying one as well, but after commuting at highway speeds a fair amount once the weather became nice, I found I didn't need it. The buffeting from the rear is minimal in this design, even with all windows down, for whatever reasons. It also looks like a pain to install and remove, and makes the back seat inconvenient for carrying extra "groceries," which you need with the top folded in the trunk.

I have used them in other convertibles, but thought I'd try it without first. You might use the money for a really nice evening out instead.

I own one, and although I agree with your assessment that it's not really necessary at high speeds, my sig-other begs to differ I guess as convertible drivers we're conditioned for (and love) the wind.

Also, your point about making it difficult to carry groceries in the back seat (with the deflector installed) isn't always true. It actually makes it easier to carry groceries (providing the top is down). In fact, that's one of the features I love best about it. You simply turn the locking mechanism, then fold the windscreen forward to gain access to the back seat. You can then lower the seatbacks to expose the grocery bag hooks, place your bag handles on the hooks, then re-secure the windscreen. The windscreen covers the tops of the grocery bags so things don't fly out when you reach cruising speed

Good point! I didn't know this one had an easy fold-up option. Thanks for the info.
