This does not work. Did exhaust on my E60 and my complained about it, but I believe she secretly liked it. Her friends all tell me that she drives quickly and reved it high when she was out in the car with them. She's a closet auto enthusiast.

Worked for me. A few cars back I had an Audi that I did exhaust, HFC, tune, intake etc. Wasn't until I lowered it and added the intake that she refused to drive it. Turbo whistle got pretty noticeable and it was looooow. Not a problem now, there are cars outside she would rather drive (she can drive 6mt). Funny thing happened when I let her pick wheels a while back, she really liked them and she has NEVER come home with curb rash (different car). Get a few years of marriage under your belt, you figure out how to work the system.

+1 if she gets really annoying I suggest that she can chauffeur me in her car next time. That usually puts an end to it

Another reason for 6MT. There's a good chance your wife can't drive it (mine can't). I run errands all the time just go to for a drive. I also go to the stores in other cities for the longer drive.

I have a unique situation in that my wife drives it to work daily and I track it on the weekends. We both love the car, she loves the fact that guys drool all over it, and it's pretty emasculating for other guys to see thus tiny little woman in this "tricked out" (she hates this term) M that they wish they had. Then again she let's me do about anything I want, bachelor party in Amsterdam, "business" trips to Ibiza, burning man, hiking trips to the Himalayas (where I found out via sat phone she was pregnant). Just need the right woman and the M becomes the mistress

My wife isn't that bad, I actually convinced her (before I picked up the car) that I had to take the M3 to Italy and back for the break-in period. It was great! But anyways, here are a couple:
1) "Babe, taking the car for a quick spin, would you like some wine?" -Obviously, I never store any wine in the house; 2) This one worked for a while: pick up the manual and say... "NO WAY, I gotta check this out!... I'll be back!" If she asks what you learned about your car, just throw something at her; launch control, comfort access, shift lights, something. It worked for me... |
