individual audio system vs logik7
Hey guys, i drive 2008 coupe 335xi at the moment and i'm thinking of upgrading to an e92 M3. I'm wondering how individual audio in M3 much better than logik7 in 335???

People are going to say its not a great sound system, but it really is. 825 watts is the best n the class. Actually both of them are great (I only know from loaners with my iPod plugged in) I think the M has a bit more bass, and the subs are located under the seats so you at least feel it a bit more. With classical music, the M can handle the highs about more than the logic 7 system.

Well i thought it should be much better cause 400 watts in logik7 vs 825 watts in individual is notable difference. So i don't understand the reason to call it individual...

IMO, the difference is the Logic7 DSP compared with the DIRAC DSP in the Individual Audio.
Logic7 sounds better in the car to me than the DIRAC, regardless of number and quality of speakers and OEM amp power output. |

If you decided to go custom aftermarket in the M, this would be a great high quality and very clean sound.
OEM Interface: Audison Bit Ten D Amp: Audison LRx 6.9 Speakers Front: Hertz HSK 165 Speakers Rear: Hertz HCX 165 (if hsk 165 don't fit in rear) Sub: Hertz HX 250 D (custom box) I put exactly this in an r32 but thinking about putting it in my M. It truly had an incredibly clean sound. |

The audiophile package (what I assume you mean by 'individual') ups the speaker count to 10, tweak the equalizer settings and you can get a really good cross-spectrum sound. I think the bass is more powerful. I got mine used with it already installed, so IDK if there's a huge difference between 335 and m3. If you have really high standards, just get aftermarket. OEM speakers from BMW all sound great to me.

I traded my old 335i for an M3 on Tuesday this week. The 335 had the Logic7 and the M3 has individual audio. I think the difference is quite big..
The Logic7 has more of a softer sound as the individual audio sounds a bit clearer. The real difference comes in when you start putting the volume up, you can really hear that the individual audio has more power. Eg. when listening to music with heavy bass, the upper parts of the sound remain as they should and are not "dampened" by the lower end. So I would say that if you like to listen hard, the individual audio is worth it.

The 2 systems are incomparable. The Individual/EPS blows Logic7 or HK out of the water, especially if you listen to music at higher volumes. Logic7 and HK simply cannot keep up.

Interesting reading the old posts here.
After "upgrading" my '08 E82 135i (with the top end HK 250W, 10 speaker system) to an '08 E90 M3 (with the 825W, 16 speaker Individual audio), I'm a little disappointed. After spending much time tweaking; equaliser, bass, treble, fader, balance etc., I'm unable to get the nice clean sound I was able to get out of the E82 coupe. And the E82 never seemed to miss the Individual's additional ~575 watts. After 11 years I never managed to max the volume and never got it to distort. Won a club sound comp with it too!

I can agree the Individual system sound far better than Logic7. But it really only sounds good at high volumes.

From what I've read, the L7 system has a better implementation of surround sound than the Dirac surround sound.
Seems people suggest to always leave the Dirac surround sound mode off, whereas the L7 version doesn't negatively affect music as much. |

Is it true that the L7 system is composed of 4ohm drivers except for the underseat subs which are 2ohm? and the DIRAC system is composed of 8ohm drivers with 4ohm underseat subs?

Hey Guys,
I am searching for a pretty basic questino but cant seem to find it on the forums, so hopefully someone here knows! I have a couple blown speakers in my M3 with Individual audio. I have pulled one out and it was blown baaad. I am trying to find replacements but I keep getting different information on it. The local Bavsound supplier tells me that I need to get the full Bavsound stage 1 package (https://southernbm.com.au/products/b...al-audio-wvujt) and cant buy just the base speakers (https://southernbm.com.au/products/b...z?category=123). I dont get why I cant just upgrade/replace the speakers by themselves, without upgrading other components of the stereo or other speakers. Is there a difference between the looms/connections etc between the base stereo and the individual package? Is there a way to just replace my blown speakers or upgrade the door speakers in the car or do I need to upgrade the speakers to a specific kit? I have also found this package (https://www.streetsoundvision.com.au...m-for-bmw-mini) and the sales person assured me it would work, although he didnt really understand my question about the individual vs base stereos being different. Apologies for the wall of text - hopefully everything makes sense. N96 |

Saw your other post too... not sure this will 100% answer your question or not.
First off though, are you set on going aftermarket? I ask because used speakers and amps are fairly abundant on the forum and eBay. Most BMW speakers of this generation are similar size and shape and from my research use same electric plug. I have swapped out the basic audio in my X3 with M3 premium speakers bought off eBay. straight plug and play except for needing the crossovers for front speakers (X3 basic didn't use inline xovers the way the M3 does). This might me a good alternative for you and remove some of the anxiety and unknowns associated with going aftermarket.

Could you tell the speakers were "blown" before you pulled them out or did it only become obvious afterwards? Only asking as I'm still wondering why my E90's 825W 16 speaker Individual system doesn't sound anywhere near as good as my old E82's 250W 10 speaker HK did. Maybe I've got some dodgy speakers?
