If no correction factors were used, Dyno Dynamic reads very very low. A C6 Z06 only reads around 350WHP on one of our local dyno dynamics.

HOLY COW! 100 HP from just a retune? WOW!!!! Well, we all knew this car was detuned coming out of the factory - but I didn't think that there was another 100 HP left in there. How'd they do it? Obviously more gas, but how do you put more air into a NA engine?

I probably missed something, but reading through the posts it seemed as if there were two different tests with two different measuring devices, all on a stock engine - retune to follow but not yet published.

Did I get that wrong?

Spoke to RennTech today about ECU for C63

When I spoke to RennTech this afternoon, they said the ECU Upgrade is only good for 26-28 HP at a cost of $3,465. I don't know about you, but I have to ask myself whether a 5.76% increase in HP when you are already starting with 451 is even perceptible. Does not sound like it is worth $3,465 to me. Just my humble opinion.

+1

It is already a beast. Not to mention warranty issues.

Well...like you said in your other post...a 500hp C63 would not necessarily be a bad thing per se

The most powerful 6.2L AMG motor is 518HP is some other models..... I wonder if the cams are different in the C63 or everything is related to tuning and more restrictive intake-exhaust plumbing?

Wondering that myself! I understand the crazy logic that the lower model in the hierarchy should not have more power than the flagship, but come on, does a 40s-50s year old dude care if a 20s-30s kid drives a car with the same horsepower. They should all be 518hp providing the intake and exhaust manifold flow optimally, but artificially limiting the hp via the software is kind of paranoid, don't you think?

I know for a fact that the exhaust and headers on the C63 are more restrictive than on other “higher up” models, I suspect the intake may be rather restricted as well and camos (though I donīt think so) may be different as well. In any event, I donīt think you can get an additional 100 hp from just an ECU reflash on that engine. Sounds way fishy, but then again, I have spoken to a Renntech technician (albeit only one but still from Renntech in Florida) that said some things that sounded way exaggerated to me.
