For me , ferarris are the hot blonde model in a tight mini dress and high heels. The Porsches are the librarian with her hair in a pony tail, short skirt, blouse and glasses. Both make me very excited but they're a different type of beautiful.

felt unsafe at 140? something wrong there. 911 turbos feel safe @ 190; as does the GT3
Unsafe perhaps. Unstable at 140 absolutely. I have yet to be in a 911 Porsche (have had three of them; two turbos) and know exactly what he means. Very floaty at those speeds. The CaymanS at 153 felt very very planted like my M3 at that speed.

Would you mind writing a little about your experience of owning a 996TT please? I know the M3 and 911 Turbos are completely different monsters, but I was cross shopping them. Went with the M3 because I'm more familiar with BMW's, can get parts for cheaper (retail price) and couldn't get away from the V8 sound the S65 makes.

Having said that, I'm 95% sure the next car to be added to the garage will be a Speed Yellow 997.1 Turbo, 6MT of course. Just waiting for 991 Turbo to come out and drop the prices

^ im on the same fence as you man for my next car. debating for m3 or 997.2tt. i always wanted a m3 and knowing m cars will be tt in future, this will be my last shot for a na engine.

on the other hand when the 991 turbo goes on sale, im hoping the 997.2tt drop even further and if its near the same price as a new m3 why not ?

decisions decisions...

as an owner of a 996 GT2, I understand what you mean about feeling unsafe at high speed.
These car are extremely sensitive to alignments. a small change in setting will result at a very big change in feeling and handling.
I prefered to setup my car to be more nimble but it is still very darty and every small touch of the steering at high speed will result in a direction change.
Another thing to remember is the huge tires on the back, which tend to follow any imperfection on the road.

Shamless plug - the GT2 is for sale.. need a 4 door

I had few runs last might with a new Carrera s. what a beautiful car. I've seem him approaching in the rear view mirror. I downshifted and waited until he was beside me and I floored it. Wot in third and fourth. And i was gone. I let him catch up and pull beside me and we went at if four times. I hope he didn't hear my whoosh sound In between swifts. Times like these the sc is worth every penny.
