Happened all of a sudden while in my garage...

Tried both keys, nothing...

Said it would be $900...

anyone ever get the same issue?
Sometimes it happen to me but then I start the car and put the remote to charge then turn it off and try again

Not the batteries something with a antenna issue in the trunk... wanted to know if anyone else experienced the same thing, and the e92 m3 key bay doesn't charge the key as I sadly learned, which is hella stupid.

Why would you key bay not charge the key? There are only two types of key.

The "regular" keys with an rechargeable battery.
The comfort access with "normal " batteries to change out.

Go to a pepboys or similar and check if your keys are working.
They have a little machine on the counter to check for a signal.

having owned other cars with chargeable remote (when in ignition or in key fob), our current E9X M3 key is MUCH better. If battery is bad, it will cost us 3 dollars and 5 seconds to change the battery in the key, which will last a good 5~6 yrs on daily usage.

a rechargeable battery or built-in bs key costs hundreds of dollars to replace and re-coded and is pain in the ass.

sometimes newer tech isn't always the best solution, a simple old tech is good enough
