I don't drink and have been ruthless earlier in life. My friend rode with me a to a wedding. I warned him up front that he better not drink too much, or he's not riding home with me. Now I have avoided being involved with drunks as much as possible. When I looked him in the eyes before we left, I didn't realize his state. He said he's fine. We got about half-way home, and he started to throw-up in his hand. I jammed on the brakes, and he got the rest out the door. I said, yelling at him, that he had two choices. I'm going to punch you in the face, or you are walking home. Now if he chose to get knocked out, I would have left him anyway. I left him on the side of the road.

That happened to my friend in his GT3 RS after we went to a foam party in miami. He took his "dance partner" home in his car, and called me an hour later freaking out about his car being covered in vomit. I then felt good about sending mine home in a cab, while I drove home in a bath robe in the M6. His car was at a pro detailer for 3 days getting the entire interior cleaned, and they used an extractor on some parts. Good luck OP!
Oh yeah, if I see throw up i'll throw up too. lol |

Feel bad for you and your buddy. He probably feels like shit for barfing in your nice ride. However, Martha Stewart etiquette says, if he doesn't profusely apologize and offer to pay for the detail than he's no longer allowed in your tree fort.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear that... If he was a decent and sensible person he would offer to pay for cleaning and detailing.
Related story: A few years ago in my previous car (a somewhat new at the time Honda Accord), I had two people simultaneously throw up on my car. The front passenger wasn't functional enough to open the window so instead he threw up all over the front carpet mat. The back passenger (sitting on the same side as the front passenger) had no window since it was a two door coupe So I was expecting for him to projectile vomit all over the front passenger. In a somewhat surprising move, he sacrificed his dignity and his clothing and instead chose to vomit all over himself. So there we were, at 2am driving on the freeway with vomit all over front carpet and my back passenger bathing in a pool of his own vomit. He honestly looked like he just came out of the womb and was covered in amniotic fluid. I was laughing so hard it was hard to be mad.

I saw that happen in Vegas. I was waiting at a light when I see a town car behind me roll down the window and projectile vomit start coming out. The guy definitely did not clear the window and I'm sure there was some splash damage.

Well, since we have a couple of on-topic, but not M3, and not exactly related stories already, I'll add mine:
On a business trip to Detroit-area and using a Hertz rental car during a particularly snowy, frakking cold night. Take four co-workers (makes five of us total in the Ford Taurus - aka "Rental Car of the Stars") to a not-company sponsored dinner at a co-workers' BFE house. The snow stops, temperature drops while we are there. I hardly ever drink, and had nothing that night either. But pretty much two of my passengers home are $hit-faced, and the other two are buzzing. Driving back at 2:00 am on the just-plowed roads, the center rear passenger shouts something like "I gotta hurl!" All sensible snow-ice-driving logic goes away for a moment when I hear that, and I sorta stomp on the brake pedal. Car slaloms a bit to a stop on the not-easy to see shoulder; but it was too late. In my keep-the-car-facing-the-proper-direction effort, I missed that the left rear passenger rolled the window down and the center-passenger just got his head out the window. We let him make his awful noises and then I begin driving again and drop all of them off at the hotel. I park the car in the lot. The next morning I go outside and get ready to head for the last day of the office before flying home. And...I happen to look at the left rear quarter panel of the Taurus. It is totally, horrendously gruesome. Frozen ick, in large quantity, pretty much covering the entire left rear of the car. And it was ... yeah, bad. Well, first thing is, can't drive that to work with that, as the sun is coming up. Q: I start asking people for a car wash. A: Uh, no, idiot-from-Texas, car washes are closed in January in Detroit when it is 12 degrees F. Q: What about an ice scraper from the trunk? A: Sort of a concrete-style concoction on quarter panel is stubborn and won't scrape off. I pretty much decided that the only thing, other than waiting for June to return the car, would involve applying warmth. A co-worker offered ideas like bringing a hair dryer outside on a few cords, but neither of us wanted to survive the odor that would create. We parked at a corner of the lot, and went inside and got a gallon milk jug of hot water. It was enough to loosen the concrete barf that the ice scraper could at least do a bit of good. Somewhat. Said ice scraper was chunked into the the snow. Hertz returns didn't ask about it, and I didn't offer. Moral #1: sometimes a person getting sick INSIDE your car is less work for you than someone getting sick OUTSIDE ON your car. Moral #2: Or leave those people behind! - V .

I sold my A5 after my mother in law puked inside it. No matter how much cleaning was done, I could not get rid of that smell. Took it to two professionals with no luck. Was real bad on hot days.
It all turned out well,I traded it in on the M3

Some hilarious stories on here. My best friend (a female ) had tatter casserole one night then went out drinking. Had a few drinks that happened to be pink. Needless to say I was cleaning out pink tatter tots at 4AM. She got the door open in time, so it wasn't too bad though.
Needless to say, I kept picture evidence to make fun of her the next morning. Low blow as always Snig

I had an Escalade a few years back and a buddy threw up out of the window on the highway... Puke flew back in the car hitting me in the face while driving and going all the way inside to the back of the car. Friend (at the time) paid for a detail, but it wasn't good enough. Ended up selling the car with little bits of puke still inside. Prob one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

For that reason alone I carry in my side bin a roll of dog poo bags. It's saved me on a couple of occasions already.

total murphy's law when owning the M, especially when you're trying to be super cautious about it. Something is always bound to happen...ugh. Sorry to hear, hopefully it's not too bad or no smells are lingering in the interior.
