SilverStone II with matte paint film
I love the Frozen silver color, but I hate the maintenance issues of a matte paint.
Does anyone have a pic of a silverstone II car with a matte film like xpel stealth? Thanks in advance!

just went to the website...didn't even know that matte finish was offered. Looks awesome, but then again, it's a Lambo on a website...
there's alot of stealth wraps on their blog!: http://blog.xpel.com/home-blog/ not sure if I like on a already matte car, looks almost too matte (as if that's possible!) http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=586290 but the stealth wrap on a gloss car, looks tits! But I saw a frozen silverstone M5 the other day and it was absolutely the best frozen color. I'm not a fan of the frozen paints, but this one is very special!!! Here's an X5M http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasonph...n/photostream/ The attached photos are pics I snapped of the M5 in question. Anyway, the basis of this post was to see if anyone that had a glossy silverstone car had they car wrapped matte and to see if the end result was close to that M5!

The expel stealth wrap: this film allows you to retain your current color b/c it is a semi-transparent matte finish wrap. (the photos i posted above all shows a panel that has the OEM finish and the stealth matte wrap on it.) The alternative is a standard opaque matte wrap. Your car's OEM finish would not show up. The film is opaque. If it's the latter, I have to say, i've seen my fair share of opaque matte wraps and they will never look 100% like a real matte paint finish. Generally the darker the color the better it'll look, but still won't look 100% like a paint finish. That and you'll have issue matching the SSII color. So if you want to retain SSII and still have matte finish, you need the expel stealth wrap. Last edited by mdosu; 08-13-2013 at 09:16 AM.. |

I'm not confusing the wraps, I Know the stealth paint protection gives a matte finish to the underlying paint color. I'm not interested in a matt vinyl wrap like a 3m vinyl wrap that hides the color of the car. What I'm asking is if anyone has put a matte finish paint protection film on their SSII car and how it compares to the Frozen SSII paint. If they have pictures of the end result it would be a very welcome post!

While I don't have an example that matches exactly what you're looking for, I can offer one that is as close as it gets. A Mercedes in Iridium Silver wrapped with SatinGuard (an XPEL and 3M competitor).
Here's the thread, loaded with in-progress and final pics: http://mbworld.org/forums/clk63-blac...tin-guard.html |
