From the packaging that it is sitting on, I want to say that it's OEM. BUt I haven't done my homework to see if they ever had OEM carbon trim. so..... is this OEM? LOL.

No it's not oem that's the other trim piece I have and that package that my oem piece came in from. It's made from auto tecknic

I'm guessing AutoTecknic, where the steering wheel piece came from?

It's a high quality piece.... I'm very happy with it!

Is this a cover that goes on top of the existing wheel or replaces the entire wheel?

You replace the trim piece.

I removed the airbag, and the dct paddles.

Removed my old trim, attached the new trim.
Replaced DCT paddles, and airbag.

Took me maybe 40 mins? It can be done much quicker - I as bs'ing with a buddy while we did it.
