M3 may get an edge when done properly as you can see in the link above. M-DCT would be really good there with the launches and shifts. No matter how fast I shift, it's not going to be as fast as the automatic. The IS-F has a lot of torque compared to the M3 too. I slowed down at the end before the IS-F did as there was something in my way.

In a straight line, I would say these cars are very close. On a track, I am sure you guys know what would happen.
thks for clarifying everything, Do you think it would have made any difference if the M3 had DCT?

Im holding back on my M3-92, until all this dust settles, between 6MT vs DCT, ISF vs. M3, 335i(chipped) vs M3, C63 AMG vs M3 etc....

I dont have a dog in the fight yet, but I find that these are exciting times, no matter w/c one folks have, since all have their own strengths and good cards that they can hold on. The M3 is phenominal no matter what, still the envy of everyone

now that I've driven both, I have to say

I don't think that is accurate, the M3 puts the power down better off the line, you can launch it harder and put the power down better, the ISF does not have a limited slip. Yeah the rolling pull I believe, I could not tell by driving each who was faster on a roll, for me they are about even.

rolling runs often depend on the gearing and what speed and gear you start in .
