Speed Cloth

If anyone is on the fence on the speed cloth let me tell you it is absolutely positively the way to go. Looks awesome and really gives the interior a sportier feel. Oh and it feels great too!!

I have '11 E92 base w/ speed cloth...Ordered '13 E92 ZCP, premium package, DCT, speed cloth. It just gives me a sense of a race vehicle. I have leather on my DD Lexus RX. I love the feeling of the gripness of the speed cloth so I dont slide around on the leather, IMHO

Is "Speed Cloth" the "Anthracite & Black Cloth/Leather"?

Anyone get heated seats with it?

Just got mine recently too. Love the feel and it makes me appreciate the interior more every time I'm in it. Leather is more luxurious feeling tho... They're both too great

Just picked my AW/Speed Cloth up on friday.
Now I'm 200/1200 into really enjoying the car.

Wouldn't have it any other way I dont think. Leather gets messed up much quicker.
I don't know why people think the interior looks cheap, they remodeled the interior after MY 2010 I think.

I agree with many in this thread. Speed cloth is just a complete no brainer. They come heated (if chosen), still look completely brand new after 53XXXkms and 1.5 years of ownership (never been treated). Plus for a slim guy such as myself (5'10", 130lbs), I never slide around like I did in my previous leather E90.

yeah I love the speed cloth...but one thing I don't like is the weird material they put on the center console...it doesn't match the seat's leather.

Mine's got the speed cloth with heated seats and both myself and passengers have noted that the heated seats seem to work much faster than anything else we've felt them in (can begin to feel it on the medium setting by the time I'm at the end of my short, ~8 house urban street)...

Can only attribute it to the warming pads not having to penetrate a layer of leather before beginning to warm my arse...

What year is your M3? I didn't notice anything different (weird) about the center console.

2013 LRE....I can take a picture later tonight. The center (and the door sills) are made of cheap rough leather (or leatherette I'm not sure). And the seats are made of the nice smooth leather (like side bolsters etc).

I noticed the difference because my 2010 had full leather and I liked the feel of the center console much more.

Either way, I like the speed cloth...doesn't look cheap at all and makes the car feel more sporty.

The center console around the shifter is Novillo leather, like the seat bolsters. The center armrest is standard leather, not Novillo. The doors are leatherette (vinyl) with cloth inserts. BMW should have been a little more consistent with the interior finishes on cloth equipped cars but I still prefer my cloth over leather - far less maintenance.

that's what I meant! center armrest...not center console, thanks. Agree, it would have been nice to get the armrest and doors in novillo while the seats stay cloth because I agree, the cloth is awesome.

The speed cloth still has leather on the sides, so you won't miss the smell
