very disappointed with BMW service....

This morning my wife's car(2011 x5 3.5p) didn't start.... it's been making weird noise at cold start for couple days ago and finally it didn't want to start.... okay it's understandable.this is how life goes.. even she couldn't take my daughter to school...shit happens.... so I called road assistance and they showed up in 40 min and jumped car. they recommended take car to dealer. Dealer was kind enough to explain her what's wrong and what's they are going to do. Dealer told her to leave car for couple days. But they gave her piece of shitty pick up truck from enterprise, because they are out of all loner cars. I know it's for only couple days but still...it was my first time service with BMW....and It isn't happy experience.

If they're out of loaners what would you have wanted them to do?

dude, ur lucky u even got a car to drive off...some dealers here in socal will just say too bad so sad and wont even both renting an enterprise car for you...then ur stuck with shuttle bus or spending your own cash for a rental car or borrowing one from if u dont have extra.

i could care less if they gave me a hyndai..as long as i get something to get me on my way, im happy...its not like the loaner car is yours to keep anyway

Not uncommon, in Texas

If they're out, they're out... Some dealers just offer you the shuttle.

So basically you are upset cause you didn't get a sedan? You could have paid additional at Enterprise to get whatever car you wanted if it was that big of a deal. Most trucks these days are extended cab at least so it would fit her and the kid easily.

nono I am not upset at all~~ just little disappointed with BMW service.... they offered no option to choose any different car, if they did I would take it. they just told her to wait and ride is on it's way....I had great experience with Lexus and Infinity and I was expecting more from BMW

You're lucky to get a car at all. Not sure the point of this thread. There is nothing outlined anywhere that states that they have to provide you with a car in the first place and now you want to be picky about which one you get?? Next time, just rent a car. Then you can get the car you want instead of the free one they provide.

Loaners usually need to be booked in advance. I don't take my BMW until after I know there will be a loaner reserved for me.

Did you have the thread where they "ZCPd" the Camry or was that someone that got a Chevy Aveo? I can't remember

As the other have said, most times the BMW loaner cars are booked weeks in advance. I had one booked one time and they didn't have one, they offered the shuttle but I needed to get around town for work. The manager gave me the keys to his at the time new G8 w/ 6 speed. That was actually a pretty fun car to drive for the day.

Exactly! We usually don't even get loaner here, just a ride back and pick up again. Plus they were out of loaners, what do you expect them to do?!

Yes, it sucks it happens but it is what it is. Its up to the dealer to make the situation better which is where majority of them fail at. She got the truck prob because it was so late and was the one of the last cars available. If she doesnt like the truck go back to the dealer around 4pm that's when BMW's start to come back for the day. They will swap her out of it into the BMW.
