Battery behavior

Been noticing my battery has been around 65 percent charged when checking it. When i charge it to 100 percent then take a drive and test it right after its at 85 percent. Once it sits overnight and i test in the am its around 65 percent. Would yall agree this would warrant a replacement?

Did you allready hooked up the Carly OBD 2 reader? To see if the batt voltage is allright?

Normally we all have the car at least twice a month on the batt tender...

Battery voltage reads around 12 to 12.2 when the car is not started and the charge is around 65 percent.

Hmmm...how old is your batt?
Mine was from 2008 and I had to replace it a few weeks ago...you might be in the same boat.

Probably OP's car has EDC , and our EDC module is the cause for draining our battery's .
Same thing here with my car and my EDC module and even with my CTEK battery tender on it .
Note: My car is not my DD and I have the satelite alarm system and is draining my battery continious because it's always connected even when it's not activated to point out the position of the car and so it's draining my battery a lot .

I do have edc. The only thing that aggravates me is when battery gets low my auto start stop will malfunction. I dont use it but the error that pops up every now and then aggravates me.

Yea grab you a new battery, I had to replace mine after 4 years. Just got a matching one at Nappa for 180 bucks changed it myself and had BPM reset my coding for it over the phone. Sure beats dealerships 700bucks.

Kiln, mine show well over 14v (more like 14.5) when the engine/altenator has run for a moment. Not sure what technology we have but an ordinary led car battery should be charged at 14.4v to be full (while above makes it gas/boil). Measured with both Carly and volt meter.

The reason I monitor my battery is becasue I had two incidents when the car didn't start after fairly long detailing sessions. After start help and charging I had no problems nor signs/iDrive codes about low battery etc hence I kept going for a while.
I measure similar to your 12.2v prior start. A normal battery holds 12.7v when charged and not loaded, however I have no clue about what current actually is draining soon as one unlock and open the door.

Ps. How do you conclude what is "left" i.e. above 65% mate?

The led indicator on the battery tender shows the amount of the charge in % ....for example 50% or half full .
Same thing here with my CTEK .

Ah, of course. Not charging myself as no power outlet available. Bummer as maintenance charging is gold to keep life time of batteries.

Nik, I've some advice for you...
You should buy a CTEK with the central connector and charge your battery once a week .

I'd love to but again have no access to power anywhere...

Particularly irritating as Ctek is Swedish and we have them in basically every shop.
