1200 mile service - can you go before you hit 1200?

i searched but there was 20+ pages with 1200 miles and service in them; can someone just let me know if you can get the service done if you havnt passed 1200 miles yet? (i'll likely be 1150ish or so when i'm scheduled to go in)

does it matter?

I bought my car from a Maryland dealer so I went today to a Virginia Dealer to get a state inspection done. My car only had 800 miles and the VA dealer said we could go ahead and do the 1200 mile service if I wanted to. I declined since I had to go back to work soon. I'll probably schedule the service when I hit 1000 miles or so.

I went in for the 1200 miles service around this mileage as well. I was told by the dealership that the car needs at least 1050 miles otherwise they won't get reimbursed for the costs of the service by BMW.

I'm sure they'll take you in. By the time you get to the dealer, it'll be much closer to 1200 anyways (that is if the dealer is 25-30 minutes away from you).

Me personally......I would drive around for another few minutes before the appointment and until I get pretty close to the 1200 mark. And then I'd take it to the dealer. I know that's kinda stupid, but I just like to always be pretty close to my target.
