check engine light on 2013 M3

so i got a full system RPI GTC exhaust with cat deletes. check engine light came on after about 100 miles driving with the new system. check engine light came on so i went to my buddy of mines shop pulled up the code and it was the exhaust came up bc of the cat deletes. is there any way to stop this code from coming up and just by pass it? or am i just gonna have to live with this stupid check engine soon light on my dash (that i hate) for ever.

Go with a tune, it will clear the code and free up ~15 more HP.

Mike Benvo @ BPM can perform remote tuning.

Not really need it unless it's a setup we haven't tuned before. 50 of our customers probably have that exhaust

Mike Benvo tuned my car too and I'm in Jersey as well.. Took 5 minutes in the gym parking lot.. enough time to let my pre-workout kick in lol... The tune is incredible and no check engine light for my TP's.. I highly recommend BPMSport.

1. You had to have known that eliminating the cats would give you a CEL, right?

2. If you have OBD based emissions testing in Jersey, then you will still fail the readiness portion of the test even if a tune can kill the CEL for you.

and that's y you save the stock parts for reasons like that.. go into inspection with my original pipes with the cats, not my first rodeo.

I thought these tunes keep the readiness statuses completed.

It's illegal to mess with the readiness..that's why tuners like ESS will will code out the light but not mess with the OBD2 readiness status.
