Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there is an interest in a slightly used Canadian 2008 E93 M3, fully loaded.

Contact me directly for details, if anyone is interested in saving $15K-20K from new on this particular model.

Cheers,

Let me clarify. When I said $17k off, this was applicaple to MSRP on year end stock in 2009. The cars were new, just priced to move before 2010 models arrived.

If people are now looking to buy used, it's definitely worth their while to check the USA used car market first. Even with the current rate of exchange, there are savings to be had.

$85k Canadian?! Are you crazy? Go look at AutoTrader.com, even with a US car and rate of exchange you're $10k~$20k off mark my friend.

Listen buddy, I have had enough out of you.

If you care so much start importing these cars and make a living!

We are here in Canada, we pay canadian prices!

Did you look at what M3 coupes and sedans with double my mileage are going for on autotrader.CA?

http://www.trader.ca/Search/Results....3&subcategory=

Exactly, they are about 10K lower which makes sense, considering mine is a convertible, fully loaded and half the mileage of all the m3's in ontario!

I dont care what the US market is, because its irrelevant.

I paid and I can send you a copy of my invoice $102,000 (including frieght, pdi, green levy, dealer options etc.) + taxes.

Have a look at few examples before you make such a statement!

1.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...cardist=267&lt

2.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

3.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

4.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

So here are 4 samples of 2008 M3 Convertibles selected at random from a sample of vehicles listed at BMW and private dealers on the autotrader.com website in the US!

Mind you I have only considered mileage and have ignored options and dealer extras completely. Which isnt the right comparison because my car is fully loaded but bear with me for a moment!

Here is a link for calculating using today's exchange rate, and the import fee and taxes you would pay for importing a 2008 BMW into Ontario.

http://www.importcartocanada.info/to...ce-calculator/

The sample of 4 car's prices are as follows:

1. $USD63,900 (Miles: 6,901)
2. $USD63,895 (Miles: 3,031)
3. $USD62,999 (Miles: 3,305)
4. $USD58,895 (Miles: 1,980)

Now, lets play this statistically correct.
The average of these 4 car prices is $USD62422.25 (I assume you can figure this out)

http://www.importcartocanada.info/to...ce-calculator/

http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/rates/converter.html

Using todays CASH exchange rate of 0.8584 as verified by bankofcanada and the importcartocanada.com website we can make the calculations!

Lets enter the $USD62,422.25 into the importcartocanada link and voila!

Total: $86,913.44
Price Paid After Exchange: $72,719.30 today's rate of 0.8584
Duty Paid: $4,435.88 duty rate of 6.1%
GST Paid: $3,635.97 Canadian GST is 5%
PST Paid: $5,817.54 Ontario PST rate of 8%
Air Conditioning Tax $100.00
RIV Fee: $204.75
Your cost after Import & Registration: $86,913.44
This Vehicle may be subject to an additional excise tax if it consumes more than 13L of fuel per 100km.

So MR. tyrewt how am I off by $10-20K?

1. My asking price is $85,900
2. My car is Canadian, better resale value
3. BMW Maintenance plan 4yrs/80KM on US cars is void in Canada
(ask BMW Canada, Kevin Rendl and Lindsay have verified this)
4. I have a fully loaded vehicle whereas the ones in the US maybe not. Not saying all of them are but some may not have the exact options as mine.
5. Tints, 3M Bumper, Hood, doors, mirrors, fenders, rockerpanels etc., Original Car Cover, Satellite Radio etc. (Equates to dealer options I mentioned earlier)

So infact you have just proven to me that my price of $85,900 on my 2008 M3 Convertible is infact a bargain!

Thanks tyrewt, maybe I should buy you a beer

in defense of the poster, u cannot compare US used car prices to canadian. US cars are also worth less to Canadian buyers in general, for instance if i were to trade-in a USA M3 i would get significantly less than a canadian one. you just cant compare them, but you are right, if you want a deal and dont care, go to the states and import, i nearly did it.

but i do have to say if your price is anywhere near 85k canadian you have no chance, i was offered a brand new e93, with everything, 22k off invoice. anyways, its upto you.

I just showed you what the cars in the US are going for and I am actually asking lower price then a sample of cars I priced for you from autotrader.com as suggested.

Maybe towards the end of the year dealers gave incentives but now they are no longer there on 2009 or 2010 models. This is because no dealer is stocking M cars as much as they did in fiscal 2008.

So those savings were for a select few people who bought leftover clearance stock and thats the end of that little story.

Please tell me if any dealer is giving $22K off at this very moment anywhere in Canada on a 2009 M3 E93!

I will buy that vehicle right now just to prove a point!
obviously not on a 2009. on 2008's just like your car. when i was shopping thats what i was offered. why would i compare a brand new 2009 to a used 2008, the incentives dont exist on the 09's, only on the few leftover 08's/
