I have an 2009 E90 M3. It came with stock 18"OEM. I just purchased a set of 220M 19" and I went with a square setup 255/35R19. After installing them I found that the front tires are rubbing. Is anybody able to help me out and recommend a solution to this problem? How do I not get the front tires to rub?

That's odd that your fronts are rubbing.
What kind of 255/35's did you go with and where are you rubbing?

Yep, 255/35-19 is listed at 26” OD, which is pushing it for clearance. I tried my 265/35 rears up front, and they definitely would not work. Some folks just let it rub, being aware of it at sharper turning angles. IMO, there is no acceptable solution with 19” wheels. The best option is 18, using 275/35 tires (25.7” OD).

There are plenty of people running 255/35's up front with no issues.

I went with a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx GT.

I saw a bunch of people running 255's without problems, thats why I decided to go with that size and cuz I got a good deal on them

Can you clarify where and when you are rubbing?
All tire brands are different. The sidewall thickness and shape can vary slightly.

If the rubbing isn't bad (which it shouldn't be with that size) I'd keep em on.
If you notice continual rubbing daily, which will wear down your liner, I'd sell them and swap them for a different brand tire.

You can't go wrong with a square setup, maybe something along the lines of 265/30/19 F and 265/35/19 R.

When I turn the wheel all the way to the left, the right tire it will start to rub in the front part of the wheel well liner and the left tire, the rubbing will occur on the rear part of the left wheel well liner. And vice versa when I turn the wheel all the way to the right. Its totally touching the liner and I have noticed that there are tire rubbing marks already and I have only driven on these wheels for less than 100KM.

Nothing you can really do except try a different tire brand or go smaller on your diameter. A lot of people are running Bridgestone Potenza RE11's with no issues.

Oh, if you decide to go 265 in front, make sure a 265 tire can fit a 8.5" rim.
It might be 255 max.

i can tell you i have 255/35 PS2 in the front
on VMR VB3 19"s @ 9.5" ET22 width
no rubbing
based on where you say it rubs
would a 5mm spacer make a difference?

I really dont know much about spacers. Maybe someone here that have some experience can tell me if a spacer will solve my problems.

Are you lowered? Have you tried adjusting camber a little? Even with the stock set up, camber can be adjusted slightly. That -.2 or -.3 might help to make the difference. It's weird that your tires are rubbing. I'm running 19x9 255/35/19 up front w/zero issues. Also, you did check to see that you didn't mount the rear tires in the front, correct?

Nope. Car is completely stock. I checked the rear tires and they are wider and mounted on the rears. This is such a weird situation.

How do I make the adjustments to the camber?

As others have said, different brands (and likely tire models within brands) have different profiles and slightly different sizes (overall diameter). The comments of others on this site leads me to believe that PS2's and the OEM Continental's are on the rounded shoulder and perhaps smaller size overall of the 255/35 - 275/35 tire size ranges. As a specific example; My Vredestein 255/35's on 19X9 et22 wheels touch the fender liner at full lock on the rh front and barely clear in the other full lock positions.

Spacers won't help. Spacers lengthen the arc that your wheel & tire travel though as they are turned (tire moves further forward and aft).

You bought a set of staggered 220M wheels and went with a square set of tires in 255/35/19?

Yup. I was going with a staggered setup but decided to try a square setup, thinking I would have no problems with 255/35/19... Guess I was wrong.

I actually just had new vredestein tires installed on ZCP wheels (19", 255/35 and 275/35) today and I have some minor rubbing on the front fender lining. It's not horrible, but not expected given the reports on this site. Anything to worry about? I imagine it will die down once the tires break in. OP, I feel your concern!
