DCT shift knob, can I replace it with a manual one?

I have an extra jaffster shift knob. Will I mess anything electrical if I disconnect the wire that powers up the shift knob?

Does anyone have a lead on factory DCT shift knob, but with alcantara? I tried to get Coby to do it, but he said he doesn't do that style anymore bc too many issues and parts taking it apart.

I want the boot and the leather on the back of the DCT knob to be alcantara.

Thanks, and I hope I'm not hijacking here. If so, I'll remove.

Cheers,
Jeff

I recently came across the thread below that indicates the shift selector electronics are tied to the dct electronics which may give you problems if removed:

Loaded, Thank you for the link! I knew they did the tri-color in leather, but hadn't seen the alcantara version. $480 for just the shifter is steeeeeeep! Have to sleep on that one. Thank you again for the info.

Cheers,
Jeff

Storm Motorwerks is supposedly developing a metal shift knob for the DCT, but I haven't seen any updates on their website yet.

That or a delrin one would be cool, as long as it comes with a novillo boot and such in the correct shape. I find that the paint on the OE DCT knob scratches a bit too easy for my liking.
