Soon to be new owner of an '11M3 ZCP DCT

Hi, long time Bimmer enthusiast here. Just coming out of an E39M5 and I'm excited to get back into a 3er. I've found a car that is almost perfect, but it is VERY option limited (no nav, no premium, no technology, etc). So I'm hoping I can get some help.

I've seen that I can retrofit a dimming mirror with homelink into it pretty painlessly, so I'm waiting for one to come up for sale or simply send mine off to radar-mirror.com.

The interior is pretty plain IMO, but I haven't seen it in person yet. I would love to get some carbon fiber inserts (trim) for the car and am looking for suggestions. I've seen the wraps, as well as the CF leather (I believe?), but it looks dull. I'm looking for something similar to what comes in the M6's - deep and glossy. Anyone have a link to that?

Otherwise, it's going to be a long wait until the 19th/20th for her to arrive.

Congrats!

You should contact the guys over at IND, they carry the glosssy carbon trim pieces and many other things you may be looking for!

Thanks, but I did not see the interior pieces I'm looking for? Only exterior bits - nice bits at that.

Rob, do you have the IND address and can you post it here / or PM me? My plan is to drop by one day and see what can be added in a day or two to my car

Thanks, Rolf

I've seen CF trim occasionally on sale in the forum classifieds. If not, Tischer (www.getbmwparts.com) should have it for order - and you can figure out the part numbers from www.realoem.com.

The M3 trim is identical to the 3 series trim, except the center console trim which is leather in the M3 (and should stay that way IMO). So all you need to buy is the dash & door trim.

Congrats!

Congrats on the new ride - I agree- the stock interior is somewhat plain. My recommendations to make some nice subtle classy improvements to the interior are as follows:

OEM BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Trim
iND OEM BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Center Console.
OEM BMW M Performance Wheel II
iND M-stitched OEM DCT shift boot and e-brake boot
Ultimate Pedals
Sonic MS | Verstraβe Aluminum Extended DCT Shifter Paddles

Many thanks to iND, Tischer, and Sonic MS for making these parts available.

OH I like!!!!! Ok, done deal. I'll get in on that group buy and then contact IND for center console pricing as well. These will be my only interior mods.

Exterior wise it is already coming with a SS fart cannon so I'll be good to enjoy it like this for now. Afterwards, possibly some other mods as I've been known to do that before

Thanks again for the welcome

So now the waiting begins for sure. Out with the old, this low mileage (2003 w/37kmi) beast is getting picked up for transport tomorrow and is all lonely in the garage...knowing that it's outta here. Already starting to miss it.

The M3 arrives on Weds (hopefully) and already has a homelink mirror waiting, as well as the BMW OEM carbon fiber kit en route via snail mail. Tint guy is scheduled too! What is surprising is that I've never sat inside an e92M3, nor driven the DCT. However I know I'll like it so no worries there

Patience is not my strong suit...

Thanks, it is the best car I've owned over the past 20yrs hands down. The e92 has some big shoes to fill! I'm optimistic

The E39 looks like the better looking twin of mine. Same interior/exterior color! But ours has a lot more miles and shows its age a little more. We still love it and it's V8 roar (Dinan exhaust)

Enjoy the new ride!!!!

Carbon/caramel here and also have the Dinan cans. Sounds fantastic, but I'm looking forward to the supersprint sound...I'm guessing the M3 will be a higher pitch scream vs the S62 bellow. Different, yet the best stereo money can buy IMO
