Thumbs down Got a quote from Dinan retailer in Canada - Update: any good shop to install exhaust?

I was thinking of getting the Dinan exhaust & stage 2 spring set here and the following is the quote I got.

exhaust price $2800 labour 2.5hrs $345
stage 2 price $2000 labour 9.8 hrs $1350

total: 7274.40 after tax

today's exchanging rate is 1usd:1.08cnd

usa price

exhaust $1999 labour 1.1hr
stage 2 $1378 labour 8.4hr

and some people even get discount on those price

good luck asking me to buy their stock in canada because it is very FUNNY!

my order will be heading to usa vendors for better quality stuff!!

Newly update: I have a titanium exhaust on the way and now just wondering if you guys in greater vancouver area has any suggestions for any particular shop that does a good job on exhaust installation and charge a fair hourly rate. Thank you

Why would it take longer to install the parts in the Canada? Something doesn't look right.

Canadians work slower =D ... but in reality..seeing how Canada lacks availability..vendors here try to mark up prices as high as they can..

availability?? we have the same availability as the US....we just have the added cost of shipping?
Or do you mean the # of vendors for Dinan?

in this case I speak strictly about Dinan...especially authorized dealers locally..i've not seen many...besides...thats why they mark up prices right? because either we buy from them and pay shipping/brokerage...or their over priced items

2.5 hours to bolt on an exhaust? most shops can Tig weld custom mufflers to stock connecting pipes in that time...

laughable...

Canadian Dinan distributer will jet up the price when the exchange rate goes down, but won't do anything when it goes up? May be they are the same guy working at those gas companies.

Why in the heck are you bothering with Dinan when you could have this exhaust mod Only a fraction of the cost

I tried to spend my money within Canada but those prices I got were simply insane; therefore, my order goes to the US vendor. Titanium exhaust on the way! EXCITING!!!!

You have to add the exchange rate on the hours also.

That's BS! My dealer even told me that they would have to hook the car up to the computer to do a DME update and coding for the steering wheel and that it could take all day, even over night. Worst part is, they charge you by the hour while the car is hooked up to the comp.
