Based solely on the photos of both the S4 and the M3 they look quite similar and if they are then I think it's beautiful.
Sorry yeah, at work where I was viewing originally, only the lower photo showed up. The upper two were probably blocked by the firewall. So I did not see the M3 comparison pic. Also, my monitor at work must have the color really off because they do look a lot more like Estoril than they did there. I still think the TT looks more like Mystic, or perhaps even Montego.

So - just a purely subjective opinion

I had a picture of a Dakar yellow e36 on my geocities (remember them?) website in college. Looking back, I just don't think you can beat that e36 palate: Dakar, Estoril, Techno, etc. For some reason - those colors just stand out to me over both the E46 and E90 colors (could it be the endangered seal blood they used to use?).

Not that there aren't some fantastic combinations on the newer models, its just that, well - I guess its like that Top Gear where Clarkson winds up picking the F40 over the Carrera GT, Zonda and Enzo. Its not that the newer cars aren't good looking or better performers - its that the e36 really winds up being something special in those colors.

Given I've got to get this sucker ordered soon - I'm disappointed that I can't get the e90 in Estoril - but while Alpine maybe a bit played - it certainly seems to suit the e90 well!

Estoril and Interlagos are my two favorite BMW blues. Monte Carlo looks great as well!

Silverstone looks blue-ish to my eye as well, so add one more to the blue list.

+1 to bringing back Techno though. Not sure if that aged well, but I think it may be pulled off on the E92 w/ the carbon roof.

As for the "definitive" color of the E9x, I'd probably go with Jerez or IB, even though every M3 I see is AW I can't let the absence of color be the defining color.

Is monte carlo, like montego? Will M3 come in MC, Esoteril, and deep sea blue in 2010 to US?
