Did someone say 580 HORSES?

i am pretty sure BMW should be scared right about now. Audi will reviel the new 580 HP RS6 Sedan for North America at Frankfurt in a few weeks... M% Killer anyone? Twin Turbo V10.

I am not sure but how old is the M5 V10 engine? There will always be something new that is faster and better. Don't you think BMW is working on another M5 as we speak that is probably faster and better?

This new car does look very promising and more competition can't hurt anyone.

BMW has a new sick twin turbo V8 in the works, should be out next year. But it's not always about HP, a 335I with (supposed)300hp is generally quicker than the 354hp S5. Balance, power, and handling!

It will probably be overpriced as hell, just like the previous RS6. Audi will end up selling 1000 in the whole world.
I live in Seattle and I have seen 2 RS6s in the last 2 years, and I drive plenty.

Audi can't compete in the horsepower wars, in my opinion.

They always have to push harder to get the same HP as BMW, with bigger engines.

For instance... The S4 v8 has 335 hp? The M3 has 333.... with a 3.0 I6....

That will be one bad mofo. I saw an RS6 just the other day, but I agree they're pretty rare. I see a LOT more M5s on the road. I like Audis, though I'd never drop that kind of cash for a car.

overpriced, no expensive yes.

you dont see very many RS6's because less than 5k were brought to north america in 2003 when they were released.

Audi keeps everything pretty exclusive. thats why they do pretty well with their more expensive cars.

Why should BMW be scared? If they FI the damn engine, it will surpass 580hp. Agency power has managed to get theirs to 810hp with the M5 engine. I think if they ever do come out out with a TT M5 engine, AUDI will be intimidated.

Just look at the specs, this car goes from 0-60 in 4.4, BMW does that in the M5 with 80hp less and an NA engine.

Plus, if BMW stuck two turbos on their V10 (which they'd never do), I bet we'd see that car pushing at least 600hp...

No, BMW are working on the new M3 CSL, new Z4, X5M etc. There hasnt been any prototypes of the new M5, but they will be working on a new 5 series not too far away...

I can assure you Audi has a great engine line-up coming too. They have a GREAT answer to the new 3.0TT in the 335i.

It's funny you should say that, the RS6 is actually underated. I can assure you it hits 60 in less than the stated time, also you will all be suprised with it's laptime.

Regarding the power, the RS6 actually makes around 603bhp....:rocks:

I would bet that in 90%+ of stop light drags, the Audi wins.

Would BMW M revise their engines part way though? I thought the engines have to last an entire model generation. So no I'm thinking they won't FI the current M5.
