OZ Alleggerita HLT - 18x10 square setup
I'm considering a set of OZ Alleggerita HLT 18x10 square setup for my E92 M3. My supplier recommended ET27 and I don't know if this will be a good fit. Anyone that can comment on this? Also what do you think of the OZ Alleggerita HLT compared with the competition?
The design of the Alleggerita is not my favorite, but the weight is quite low and should be ok for track days. I have noticed that 275/35x18 tires are popular, but neither Yokohama Neova AD08 nor Michelin Cup 2 comes in these sizes. Then I guess I will have to go with 265/35x18 all round, or will 285/35 be an option? I guess Toyo R888R's will be too loud for longer trips to/from a track. I will be using the car for street and track, but I've got my ZCP wheels with PSS for DD (255/35/275/35x19). |

You could run a spacer in the rear to even things out, so to speak, but if this is a track set up, I'm sure aesthetics come second.

+25.
I use a 5mm spacer so I would actually go +20 or even +18

Aesthetics is not the most important, but in the summer I will be driving all the way to France and stop by Nurburgring on the return. There I will spend a few days on the "Ring". For this trip I would like to drive on the track oriented setup. The tire options I find attractive in 18" are Yoko Neova AD08R 265/35-18 and the same size for Michelin Cup 2. I guess 265 in the back will be ok? If not maybe 18" or 19" staggered is the way to go. |

OZ is out of the question on +18 or +20. Apex is probably a better alternative all together. I will go back to the OZ supplier and ask if it is possible to go down to +25 on the Alleggerita's. Or if there is an alternative to this wheel. I hope the Challenge HLT can be an alternative. The aesthetics is more attractive than the Alleggerita as well. |

Do you drive the car on street or track only? Which tires do you normally use? I know the Toyo R888R's come in 275/35-18, but not the Yoko AD08. I don't see 285 as an option for square setup for me since I will be driving many miles to/from track.

Thanks for your info. 275 RS3 may be an alternative, but I'm having 2nd thoughts on going square. The alternatives in 275/35-18 are few and 265 in the rear seems narrow to me. Maybe 265/35-18 front and 295/35-18 rear is the way to go?

You're right in that. The best is to go for TD wheels and use ZCP's for DD. You see, I'm going to Nürburgring this summer and I will combine it with a family summer vacation:-) I expect to drive 6-8000 km trip return and a few days at the ring. Then I will have to invest in Cup 2's on my ZCP's and maybe go 255 front and 285 rear. This should be good for a few days at the Nordschleife and a long drive and still have thread left to return safely.
Oh my. So much fuzz just to make up my mind for a wheel tire combo |
