Track day at the Spa Frankorchamps! careful, wet

Today was my first track day at the Spa. Had 4 25minute sessions.

Here is session 3... I think the fastest i did was around 3:20, with average lap time of 3:30. Conditions: Wet, really wet! It's been raining all week, and all day... E36 M3 crashed, and a TVR.

I see you are a good driver, especially in suche wet conditions.(you have to dare)
With what kind of tires you have driven today in Francorchamps ???

Actually in the wet its not obvious at all. If he took the supercharger off I doubt the result would have been much different.

Nice vid and driving OP!!

I was referencing how he was pulling on other cars on the straights... The SC does make a difference there

Again in the wet, not so obvious, I have pulled plenty of higher horsepower cars in the wet like they were standing still with and without the supercharger. And then had the same cars go sailing by in the afternoon when it was dry. I really didnt feel the supercharger on the car in the wet was really an advantage.

Sometimes it just comes down to confidence of driving in the wet (of both you and the other drivers)

I'm with you, some are not driving all out even on the straights, depending on their comfort level in the wet .

yea, the car is supercharged, but the supercharger is more of a problem than a benefit in wet... I mostly shifted at 6k rpm, and was not able to push to the limit (except on the main straights). If you giving the car more gas in a turn, it would instantly loose traction, so had to be careful with that (I had a lap where i was just going sideways all the time).

I lifted for the Eau Rouge cause it was just too slippery, and I could not keep to the right after the first left... so you will see me going too much left

Most of the time I tried taking a safe approach, and I didn't want to risk too much. On the first two sessions i was driving a lot calmer, getting used to the track and car behavior in wet.

Most cars in that session were also doing their 3rd round, and most of them were the fastest cars of the day. The GTR you see passing in the end, he was behind me all the way, and I just let him in the front for the last lap (courtesy)(and no, i was not blocking him, he was a distance away).

Awesome track, but a bit scary in the rain given the high speed nature of it. Very jealous
