Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 - you guys still likng 'em?
As the subject states, I'm curious if you guys that are running these tires are still liking them. I have the Conti DWS with about 13k miles and the rears are just about shot. Looking at these A/S 3's based on the reviews I've seen but wanted to see if the consensus is still that these are pretty good tires. I'm in South Texas so needing something with decent summer grip but doesn't slack off in the mild winters we have here (rarely gets down to freezing). And yes, being a few hundred less than the PS2's is a big plus. TIA
BTW - Happy New Year to all!

I love them, I am using them up here in Chicago and they are holding up great in freezing temps, I honestly feel that they do great even with light snow. There are comparisons out there that the AS3s did better in than some summers.

Sounds like the A/S 3 is a good fit for you: plenty of dry grip but won't become a death trap as soon as you have a few cold evenings. I say buy them and keep us informed!

Got em installed and loving them so far. Had some rain here in Houston and they did not miss a beat. Stuck like glue.

They hold up really well, I am gonna keep my as a three season set but this winter has been horrendous thus far so I had to go with dedicated winters but i couldn't imagine you having a winter like us in texas. I think this is an excellent option for anyone with a climate that has a mild winter with most snows being less than 2"

Nope no real issue of snow down here. Biggest issue is hydroplanning when we get a lot of rain.

I have them on my winter car (VW GTI) and they are great in cold and mild temps - just awesome. Grip, comfort, not loud, great mileage warrant.
In icy/snow they really are just meh. I think for a place like Texas they would be a great cold weather tire. Wouldn't recommend them for folks up here that deal with Ice/snow all winter - they are too unstable on ice/packed snow. dedicated winters for me next season. |
