Little token for your client advisor?

So I'm going to pay for my car this weekend before I pick it up for PCD. My CA and the sales manager have both went above and beyond to not only take me back after I walked away to attempt to give my business to a neighborhood dealer, but also moved mountains to secure an allocation and were very aggressive on getting me the best price. The even tossed in the black grills option for free (savings of $450).

Anyway, I was considering picking something up like a gift card or something to show how much I appreciate all they have done for me. Is that dumb since they are getting the sale of the car? Has anybody else done anything? Ideas? Suggestions? Thoughts?

I gave a bottle of wine for getting me 1k over invoice and getting me an allocation as promised. A small gesture is always nice.

I was considering giving my CA a tip for the really good deal. However they decided to deliver my car to my house instead. He also sent me a M t shirt which I asked for after (wasn't expecting it).

I wouldn't even worry about a tip and i think he made some money on the car.

Even if you got rock bottom prices, the salesman still makes a commission, so take that into consideration. A small gift would help in future purchases though.

Why not say "thanks" with something like Starbucks card or something similar. It's simple, not a big deal, but shows you appreciate good service. It'll make both of you feel great about dealing with each other.

Bbb34 that's exactly what I was considering was a gift card to Starbucks. I realize they are making money on my deal regardless of how much I think I saved, but agree it's a nice token and glad to see others have done so in the past.

Pretty "generic" card like that works, everybody has a coffee/tea or a random cookie now and then. I have in the past considered a bottle of wine, but with my luck, in politically correct world we live in, didn't want to take a chance of service manager being "...x years sober" or something like that.

It's not so much about them making money on the deal or this gift's monetary value. It's just a nice thing to do for someone who treated you nice. Not doing anything is perfectly fine, as this is a business transaction after all, but if you were happy and gift card won't break the bank, why not.

i personally wouldnt. its a business deal not a friendship. reward for good service is you buying the car. but there certainly isnt anythign wrong with giving them something

If you want my POV on this topic I would feel weird giving a 20$ tip for a 70k+ car.

If you choose to give a tip weather it's a gift card or whatever it must be 50$ or 100$.
Cash is pretty nice just swing by one day when u want to look at some cars and give it to him.

Don't make ur self look bad by giving a stingy tip.

Ultimately, I have yet to find a sales person who knows much about the car they are selling so they really don't provide me with that much value other than arranging test drives. Even if they facilitate a fair deal for me I always assume they do so because it is in their interest at least as much as mine. So, I have never given a gift to a car dealer. If I like them for whatever reason, I'll consider buying another car from them when my wife or I needs one. I'll also refer people to them and give them good survey ratings, which is what I think they want more than a token of appreciation.

get a pic of you and significant other, infront of your car, and write a note for him to put on his desk.... that'll cost you zero, and help him win more business.

A Starbucks card or a bottle of champagne is nice, but the best thing you can do -- which will affect your advisor's career and salary -- is to give him and the dealership all 10s on the survey you get. And be sure to let him now and indicate in the survey that you want the information shared.

Because of all the BMWs I've owned in the last decade I suspect my survey votes have made my dealer (Bob Smith in Calabasas) and my service advisor (Ken) the top rated in the country. (In fact Bob Smith was the top dealership a couple of years ago.)

Of course, the advisor and dealership should earn it, but if you scratch their backs . . . you know the rest.

The best thing you could give is a good referral and repeat business. I definitely wouldn't give cash or a gift card. They are professional salesmen.

I gave my CA a "nice" gift of a extremely poor post sales customer survey sent from BMW. My buying experience was so horrid it was my way of giving him an F you and a middle finger.

Conversely, I've asked to talk to my SA's manager and had my SA sit there with me where I praised the level of service I got from him. I felt this was a good way of saying thank you the best by providing direct feedback to the guy who has the greatest influence over his job.
