The "shipping charges" are just for the actual document to be sent to the buyer.

I don't know why you would put it up for sale now. You should wait longer for the demand to build up.

With orders starting to be taken in July and August, I want to make sure the buyer has plenty of time to decide options, and have enough time to transfer the spot at the dealership. Since once your number is called, you only have 24 hours to commit.

TBD I'd rather be keeping the spot and buying, but I bought a new house, and can't afford it right now.

I have 2 deposits at different locations. I wasn't aware that they was going to allow transfers this time. How much do you think these will go for?

It depends on your Dealer as far as the transfers go. As for price, who knows. It really depends on what dealers are charging above MSRP. I've heard some pretty crazy numbers from people in CA asking dealers, but only time will tell.

The situation in the U.S. is very different to the UK. In the U.S. dealers are allowed to sell above the M.R.S.P. (Manufacturers Recommended Selling Price). In the UK they obviously don't.

BMW UK are clamping down on people selling their slots to make a profit, hence the need to put a deposit down already and state your intent. If people pull out, then people lower down the list move up.

People who deliberately set out to make a profit by selling on a slot should be blacklisted by BMW for a long time.

Having said that, don't expect the market for the E92 M3 to be the same as the E46 M3. The relatively higher price (approaching 60K with options) means BMW are entering a different segment, and people are not going to be so eager to part with their cash.

Forget what the dealers are saying, they also think it is over priced (I still think it will be a bargain though), and they are not seeing the demand they saw for the E46 M3.

Unless BMW restrict supply you won't have to wait long for an E92 M3 even if you haven't got an order in now.

MRSP? haha. you mean MSRP. and it's Manufacturer's Suggest Retail Price. and clearly...being from NL, you are completely clueless as to the market for cars in the United States... people paid over $150,000 for M6's in some place... people payed over $70,000 for E46 M3's when they first arrived. These will easily approach $75,000 at dealers. EASILY, and people will pay it without any reservations... in the US, especially on the East and West Coasts, people treat cash like toilet paper.

Well, quite clearly there is a whole world of difference between "manufacturer's recommended selling price" and "Manufacturers suggested retail price."

Obviously the two phrases mean completely different things.

Well, I'm actually from the UK, and I was responding to somebody with "London" as their location. Could you please tell me where I was even commenting on how prices will be in the United States. My whole post was talking about the UK market, hence me refering to BMW UK.

I refer to cars approaching 60K. That is British Pounds.

I think you've assumed I was talking about the U.S. market, and made a bit of a fool of yourself in the process.

Perhaps you hadn't noticed, but your money is not actually worth much more than toilet paper!

$75K is still a great deal less than my Eurpoean colleagues and I will pay discreetly for our M3's (showing off your money is rather vulgar, wouldn't you say?).

+1

In case anybody hadn't noticed, this guy is THE man. He's got an AMEX Plat card which allows him to get two for one first class air fares. I wish he was my friend.

Why are you opposed to somebody making a couple bucks by being ahead of the curve?
