Selling my gaming PC

I built a sick gaming pc a little while back and don't have a need for it anymore. I work on a mac and play on a PS3 so I need to sell it.

These are some of the specs off the top of my head:

2.6 Quad core processor
4 gigs of ram
512mb Nvidia 9800 Graphics card
One 80GB 10,000RPM hard drive
One 500GB 7,000 RPM hard drive
Two DVD read/write drives. (Need to connect one of them to the MB as I forgot to buy the wire and got lazy)
The case has a fan on top and one on the side so it's always cool.
Windows 7 loaded

$1,200 with monitor keyboard mouse and speakers

Assuming that it was a self built system since you didn't drop a Brand name I must say that is quite a lot for a used computer.

2 Years ago, that is about as much as all of those components would cost new. Regardless, good luck with your sale.

How much would you suggest? I built it a year ago and it cost about $2,500. If I'm gonna lose more than a $1,000 in a year than I won't sell it.

Forgot to mention I'm also including a 21" monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, and Creative 2.1 speakers.

It plays every game I have installed on it in the last few months at full settings without a problem.

My monitor, keyboard and speakers cost about $500 so it still comes out cheaper. Either way I'll probably let it go for $1200 with everything, if not then I'll keep it for myself.

Its not so much 'how much you paid for it 2 years ago', as it is 'how much you can buy with the same money today'.

For $1200 you can build a hell of a machine. I don't have alot of time to post, otherwise I'd PM you a build as an example. But I've posted pictures of builds on these forums a few times before, maybe try to search if you have time. You also didn't list monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. in your OP. So I assumed those were not included. Shipping a monitor 2nd hand would be risky also.

Anyways, it comes down to that there isn't much of a market for used computers. They are such a personal device, and poeple tend to neglect them most of the time. Also factoring in how fast new products come out, and come out for the same price I should add. It just doesn't translate that well into resale. I would suggest selling it for $1000 tops. But probably more like $800 if you want to sell it quickly. It has to be cheap enough that someone who is looking at possibly building their own machine with quality components would stop and think about the huge value. Anyways, I didn't mean to steal your sale thread. So I apologize for that. Good luck in your sale, and may I suggest post it up at some of the computer focused forums. www.Hardforum.com has a decent amount of selling and trading, though there is a online seller rating system they usually hold keen on. You might want to check it out.

I built my system 2 years ago for $1300. I have a Q9450, 4gb Crucial Ballistix, 8800GT, 750GB HD, 780i nForce mobo, and a Antec Nine Hundred case. (Plus all the little things, dvd, SB sound card, Heat sink for the CPU, 750W PSU)

I'm with everyone else on the price, it's way to high.

Out of curiosity though, what kind of RAM is the board capable of running? Can it run DDR3?

Thanks for the help man god damn PCs are so cheap nowadays I cant believe I spent 2k on this system. I guess I'll just keep it and use it to render stuff out whenever I need my mac.
