E93 - front tires switched left to right

Guys - need some advice from the experts on here. Brought my car in yesterday to a reputable indie shop to have my new rears installed. While there, since car is on the rack, I also asked him to have his guy "balance" my fronts, as I was getting a minor "shake" in the wheel above 75.

Anyway, new rears go on fine, and then he balances the fronts. I am running the OEM conti 3's on 19's. Car and fronts know have 7K miles on them.

I get the car back, and driving back home, the shimmy is gone. However., the front end feels a bit odd, almost squirrely. Is it possible that when he re-installed the fronts, he reversed them? Since they have 7K miles on them, and these tires don't appear to be marked uni-directional anywhere, maybe he got confused when putting them back on?

perhaps with 7K miles, the tread pattern is ready kinda set, and if switched, the tires would feel not right.

if this is the case, I would assume the odd feeling would go away shortly, as I scrubbed more tread off the fronts. OR, is it dangerous to drive on tires on these cars that have been effectively "rotated" left to right (and vice versa)?

Hope this not a dumb question.....thanks
