Simple question about finishing glaze

Are finishing glazes worth it? I've been debating Pinnacle or Wolfgang, I was thinking of applying it after I apply a wax....Thoughts?

Also thoughts on applying after a selant ???

My car is Alpine White, not the 'whitest' of Alpine Whites.

Not sure what those products are, but traditional glazes typically go on before the wax or sealant and are used to mask problems in the clear or to add gloss. An example of such a product is Meguiar's #7 "show car glaze".

Personally, there are so many great sealants and waxes now that glazes are largely useless from my perspective. I view them as "make-up" for the paint. They might be worth it if you are trying to add depth to win a car show, but other than that, I think they are a waste or time.

Best bet is really just to make sure the paint is corrected (no swirls, water marks, etc) then seal it with a wax or polymer based product.

Correct..glazes usually go on before a wax brings out more luster and has some fine fillers so you shouldnt use it too much for that reason..I use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze..works nicely

You cant apply it like a wax tho and let it haze..just apply and almost immediately buff

Depending on you paint condition..you may want to consider clay and polish..or if really dull a clay compound and then polish

Use the hand glaze after that and then a pure wax

I like P21S Concours Carnauba Wax great gloss and very easy to apply.

Sealant - Meg's #21 2.0 is what I use. Lasts very long and super easy to apply and remove.

Sealants can be topped with wax for added depth and different beading characteristics. Our Tough Coat is very popular right now for good reason. 6+ months durability. Spray 2x into a foam applicator, buff off. It is really that simple.

The Wolfgang Finishing Glaze you're referring to is a silly, misnamed product that isn't really a glaze in the traditional sense. It's actually a fine abrasive finishing polish, and IIRC it's a relabeled Wolfgang version of Menzerna 106FA. Do not apply it after a wax or sealant, because it will remove any protection you have applied.

I don't know of a regular Pinnacle finishing glaze unless you're talking from their XMT line. If that's the one you mean, it contains chemical cleaners that will also compromise your wax/sealant. Apply it first, before you seal or wax.
