Looks like I'm gonna be doing this... Whats the HP gains?

....but seriously. My plastic one was leaking a few weeks ago. The dealer replaced it but I may get in front of this for the next time. OH yeah.

Thanks! It is for our DCT Oil Cooler Kit which we plan to release for those who are interested in further cooling. The kit will include 2 SPAL fans, 1 oil cooler core, 1 oil pump, XRP AN fittings, and Aeroquip hoses. We are still in the works of pricing everything out.

Sounds intense! Any plans for an upgraded radiator and engine oil cooler?

1. How much more fluid running this sumped cover alone??

2. How much more fluid with the cooler and lines

We may have something in the works for an upgraded radiator. We have an upgraded oil cooler with carbon fiber ducts available, which I plan to create a thread and provide more information on. We've had it on tightie's car for a few months just to see how it works and how much it improves oil cooling so we haven't officially released it. Overall, our oil cooler upgrade helps cooling as tightie's Gintani Stage 2 SC E92 M3 has not seen any overheating on the track since we placed it on his car!

1. Stock pan holds 1 liter (1.05 US quarts) of DCT oil; our Gintani pan holds 2.65 liters (2.8 US quarts) of DCT oil.

2. We did not measure how much extra fluid was utilized when we placed our prototype kit onto sticky's car (before my time here). I will ensure we measure the fluid amount when we move forward with the next car that is equipped with our upgraded DCT oil cooler kit.

I don't think its unreasonable to think. Bmw went plastic to save weight. I'm guessing 20-25 pounds more with gintani pan. Although its in a relatively good position for dynamic handling effect, 20 pounds is a lot for one part. Unless you have overheated before Id stick to lower weight and just change the plastic pan when needed

A. if you think this will add 25 lbs that's silly unless it's made of steel

b. even if it was a few lbs over OEM you're adding the weight dead center under the car... not too terrible.

Our pan is machined from Billet Aluminum 6061, not steel. I weighed our pan for shipping purposes and I believe it weighed 6 or 8 lbs, I do not remember exactly off hand. Will double check when I am in the office.

Did you run some comparison tests with OEM? How much cooler stays the DCT oil when running hard?

From our experience, it has helped alleviate overheating DCT issues in our shop car's Stage 3.5 SC M3. The added fluid volume, billet aluminum construction (better heat transfer properties), and added cooling fins all contribute to DCT oil cooling.

For those looking for a cooling solution, CSF also makes a larger trans cooler that fits in the stock location. Seems to me that item plus this pan might be a good combo.

Only thing I worry about with this is the removal of the flat-bottom panel (resulting in worse aerodynamics?) and the potential for reduced ground clearance.

How can it be larger? Which dimension? There is nowhere else to go. If you take off bumper and fender liner and look at it, it seems to be as big as it can be.

What's the deal with this after some years? Anybody install and have it solve problems? I'm getting limp mode on track now, logging pressure error codes. Looking for a solution

this might solve your problems. https://www.sspperformance.com/bmw-d...g-package.html

I experienced dct problems couple times this year just from daily driving. thread here http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1467012

when I did my engine mount I noticed that the black dct pan had oil on it so I think there is a small leak. I have been looking at several metal pans including this one https://goo.gl/grfwJN, which is only $450. Think I will top off first, clean the pan and then check in a couple of months.
