Fall semester my Senior year I had a wicked schedule:
0800, 0915, 1030, 1145, 1300 (2-hr), 1530 (2-hr), 1900 (2-hr). From my dorm room each class was further and further away. Fortunately, this was only twice a week.

My last semester I misread my exam schedule and ended up skipping one final. I got to the room to find the answers posted on the door. My instructor was kind enough to give me a choice: take the exam which I needed 101% to get an A in the class or take a B and forget the exam. I wonder what was on that test!

[quote=BellasBmw] Did a lil shopping.. got myself a nice size poster for my wall. Its the italian national team.. of course ha ha. But atleast i got 11 guys right ontop of me. From the looks of the guys around campus, that might be the only guys that'll be ontop of me.

Very funny! Now you have to come to N.J. for all the good looking men!

Welcome to the East Bella! Good Luck!

Yeah a lot of people from that area look like douchebags. All the guys think they're stunnas and the girls look like used whores. Both guys and girls go to tanning beds and use fake tan and guys wax their eyebrows and use lip gloss. It's pretty weird.

Well maybe not a few..... thank god for those target gift cards. My dad and i went to Hofstra to check in, my suitemate had arrivied with her parents. Shes a cool girl. Shes very talkative, outgoing, loves to shop and brought a TON of stuff with her. We moved a few things in, then we all went to have dinner and run a few more errands. Saturday morning was big move in day. It took us about 6 hours to unpack and organize our belongings. My roommate arrived, and i love her. Shes quiet, laid back, likes to work out, eats healthy, and seems like a very good person. Her and i hit it off immediately. Infact we went to the gym for the first time last night. Its about a 5 min walk from our building.
My building, unfortunately, is the farthest from campus. It will take a good 15 min walk to arrive to the student center (the main hub of our campus- food, bookstore, offices, library, bank, ..etc). From there we cross the enclosed bridge to the class area. So im assuming it will take around 20-25 mins to arrive to class depending on where the building is located. Its not too bad NOW, but when it hits 10 degress and snow.. we'll see how i deal.
I also realised just how many classes im taking. Thankfully my roommate showed me how to check my schedule online. I never realised i had been looking at this week's schedule and of course monday we have off. So i assumed i had no class on mondays. I WAS WRONG- I have 4 classes monday, 1 on tuesday, 3 on wednesday, 2 on thursday, 2 on friday. BUSY BUSY.
Today i went to the mall (thank god there is a huge mall 2-3 miles from campus).. i got some sweaters and boots. Im starting now!
The hard part is not having my car. I LOVE my car, and ive been driving since i was 15. Im not used to being dependent on someone else, and i hate that feeling. If i need to buy some supplies, unless they need/want to go, im out of luck. That will be an adjustment.
Ive also never had to share a room or bathroom with girls. The bedroom isnt a big deal cause like i said, my roommate is very cool. I will have to learn how to sleep with noise. Even though our suite is 3 seperate bedrooms, you can hear everything in the rooms. Sharing the bathroom with 5 other girls is hard. I am skeptical to leave my things around, but in reality-- what could they take.. toothpaste, face wash?? So i only take my more expensive things in and out of the bathroom. The bathroom is big, however the shower is small. And we have curtains to divide up the tiolet and shower area. That way if someone is showering we can still use the potty. But i think #2 is gonna have to be a solo act.
We have a little fridge/microwave in our room. Its great cause now i have cereal and snacks throughout the room.
Anyway, thats just a lil jist of whats going on here. Its funny cause im only 30 miles from NYC, yet, it doesnt seem like it. When you live on campus, your in this bubble. Things are close by.. driving distance but only a few miles. So i hope we'll get some time to visit NYC this week. Anyway, thats a nutshell of life here.

edit- im going into the city today with the roomie!
I'll take u for a cruise. My cousin went to hofstra law but lived off campus in a house with like 3 girls... then he moved to la. where in sd are u from?

Hey Bella, hope things are going well for you so far.

As for good looking girls I didn't see many this past weekend. My brothers and I were in NY/ NJ and we were highly disappointed. And then we went to Atlantic City and cruised the boardwalk and saw lots of fat girls and old people. We all lost too much money but other than that it was a great weekend.

In NY u have eurotrash chicks, models, college students, vacationers, tourists, rich girls who no worky... NY is the young rich capital of the world and then u have the wannabees, social climbers, golddiggers and whores...

Remember that article about the girl Adena being clueless about her move to New York. Well, in that same article the mother confesses that people in the Northeast are "generally uglier", than the "people out here"...lol. Well for me I find the girls out here a lot more attractive. When I first came out here and started clubbing in San Diego and Los Angeles I was shocked at what I saw, so many fine girls.

It appears your SOL, with the age thing on campus. Generally girls like men that are older. I started school a few years late too, but I never had any problems. In fact with the experience I had recieved the years prior, picking up on campus was trivial.

I would highly recommend paryting in NYC, a lot of good places, bars, clubs you'll meet some guys there of your caliber eventually.

You guys.. this is pretty sad but im homesick and i wanna go back to cali . I have only been here a week. Its not that i hate it, or anything. But i miss my mom and family. I thought i was going to love not hearing her yell at me or bitch.. but in reality its all i can think about. Im literally homesick, ive been having bad stomach aches and nervousness thinking about it. What should i do?? I spent all this money on supplies , traveling, a going away party, and ill look like a fool coming back so soon. But, i wanna see everyone. I should have gone to a school in cali that way i could drive home once a month. I didnt think it was gonna be this hard. I dont think ill last till christmas. I gotta home before then, but im in the class Mon-Fri.

I even broke out with a fever blister on my lip. I havent had one of those since i was a little kid. Maybe 5,6 yrs old. I went to the nurse and she told me that my lymph node was swollen due to stress and thats why i broke out with the fever blister. Great the first week of school too, looks like im walking around w/ a STD on my face.

Bella,

Everything is going to be fine.

I went to school out in Cali, coming from New York.

You feel a bit isolated at first, but it goes away.

Once you get settled in you will start to meet people, and you will get into a groove.

As for the guido thing, well yah, there are tons of them in the New York City area. The whole State isn't like that though.

If I were you I would try to spend as much time in Manhattan as possible.

And cheer up Charlie!!!

College is all about breaking out of your comfort zone and forming new ones...stick it out...it is worth it...make an extra effort to meet new people and you will be fine.

You will be laughing about this later on...

Ohh...

And, throw yourself into your studies.

Make it your job.

Do every home work assignment, before going to class, and pay attention while in class (take detailed notes helps the time pass), and re-write them after class, forming an outline. The professors for the most part will test you on the in-class information.

This won't take more than a few hours a day, which will leave you plenty of time to do whatever you want to do. If you blow off school, you will shoot yourself in the foot if you decide down the line to transfer.

You have to learn how to be independent and live on your own someday. I left my mom when I was 16 and life was so much better for me but I've always been close to my dad. When he moved an hour and a half away he drove down here every Sunday and drove back just to see me. I guess he really missed me. But in May he moved to North Carolina to get a job and I haven't seen him since then and it's kind of hard but as long as I talk to him on the phone I am okay. I racked up over 2500 minutes a couple months even with free nights and weekends. It's tough, but it is the only way you will grow on your own. I know some people who are 30 and still rely on their parents and would be helpless without them and it's kind of pathetic that they can't go out and live their own lives, I would never want to be like that.
