But to quote the other poster, I take mine to BMW of Fairfax too. A lot larger facility and service area. |

Both are the same. One is the actual dealer and the other is the service center. The service center is ok but not great by my standard. My Infiniti dealer was at least 3 times as more professional and responsive. The building is also a shit hole but I was told that they will be moving to a new building in the near future.
Also, when I picked up my e92 M3, the low engine oil light came up. I circled back around to the service center and let them know. It seems that the tech decided that he knew better than the service manual and added less oil; 30 minutes later, I was out after he topped it off. However, the 1200 mi service took them like 6 hours! The other bad thing is that they don't have that many BMW loaners. So you either get a 328 or a Dodge! I was like WTF! I bring in a $70k+ car and I get a Dodge Cobalt? I heard BMW Farifax is a bit better and they actually offer DINAN. Edit: No DINAN at BMW Fairfax. Fairfax Service Center is the one that offers DINAN. -SZ Last edited by SUB-ZERO; 11-13-2009 at 12:04 PM.. |

I live in Arlington and refuse to use BMW of Arlington, I always use Passport BMW, they treat me very well and usually fix everything on the 1st go around (which is pretty rare for service centers in my experience)

I use Passport and the only thing I've used BMW Arlington for is the restroom when I am across the lot at the Porsche dealer! They actually seem to do a pretty good job however I do agree that they both need to update their facilities a bit...I was at Porsche of Annapolis today getting parts to change my oil and my god..what a nice showroom, service area, lounge...and the floor to ceiling glass windows in the shop were a very nice touch...kinda small and tucked back off Rt 50 but I may have to check them out some more...ops sorry for digressing. Try Passport ask for Steve Heath and tell em I sent you. They have taken care of ALL of my BMW since 2000 and never messed up anything and always done a great job...add to that their new building and I can almost always get my car in there within 24hrs of asking for an appt and I get a BMW loaner NOT a Dodge or some GM product!

Update, I had my car serviced at BMW of FFX and Rex was great... Really helpful, kept me posted about my car's status... I also spoke to him about modding and what he feels is acceptable and bolt ons are ok in his book... I know sometimes its not up to him but for regular service, etc. when BMWNA doesnt have to be involved, you should be ok... I wouldnt risk a tune though so be aware... You can tell him that Raheel sent you in case hes being shady about your mods... Dunno if that would help but its worth a shot...
The only complaint I have is the loaner guidelines of having 2 billable service hrs be considered for a loaner and that isnt determined until your car gets seen by a tech! It makes absolutely no sense to do it that way... Overall, a decent experience and Rex is def a good guy who will take care of you... |
