PC speakers

hey,
I just put together a nice desktop computer for school. I love listening to music while I study or do whatever. Does anybody know where I can find a good 2.1 setup with subwoofer?

So what's your budget? Do you like the boom boom pow or more balanced sound?

You should just look around at electronic shops nearby or just online.

I have a creative system that is 5.1 surround. It really sounds good. I know they make a 2.1 system also.

Try this-

You could give this a shot:

I can't say from experience how good this model is, but I have the Creature II speakers. For $100, they are great value and the subwoofer works really well. I can hear the thump throughout the house

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Bose%26%...&skuId=7933748

i recently bought these for my dorm room because of size convenience and because its bose. The sound quality is honestly amazing. I haven't not owned many speakers in the past, but the quality coming from these things is far better then anything i've ever heard. sound does not get distorted no matter how loud you have em turned up and sounds soo good... however, the base does not hit as hard as i'd prefer. Though I have gotten complaints from kids in dorm below me to turn the base down, i have heard systems with way better base.

You should really consider the logitech z-2300 speakers. They're THX certified and I've never been able to go past 50% volume because my entire office vibrates, books fall off shelves, anything on my desk "walks" off and unto the floor, windows sound like they're on the brink of coming of the frames and you feel the thump of the bass inside you... maybe it's something to do with my sound card too but I love them. Around the house I have Bose systems and bang and olufsen but as a computer system the logitechs are really good.

dont waste your time with bose. you can get way better systems for the money.

A really good sounding system with a good amount of bass would be these:

http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/product...less-overview/

If you dont need wireless get the wired ones for cheaper. Klipsch is a good audio company. i just bought a pair of s4 headphones and they sound great.

This system will not be as crisp as the klipsch one but will have a lot of bass. people actually complain that they have too much bass. but if thats what u want go for it.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...s/231&cl=us,en

i wouldnt recommend spending $300 on computer speakers, you would be better off buying some real speakers at that price.

and try asking on a site like head-fi. they know everything

These are great, had them as my first set and they are great for the money.

Had them till I wanted a 5.1 system and got these for a great price - http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...s/224&cl=ca,en - Was also a great system.

Moved into a condo about a year ago and needed something small and crisp so I sold the 5.1 and went with the Focal 2.1 system. Hands down the best 2.1 system I've ever heard. Zero distortion, amazing mids and highs. Not cheap but worth every penny.

i have owned that same (but wired) klipsch set up and if you want bass i definitely recommend those, especially for the price. The bass hits verry hard. however, the sound quality is not up to par with the bose but still sounds great none the less.

I'll throw in a vote for the Klipsch setup. I have a Klipsch Promedia 4.1 setup (out of production) that is about 9 years old and it amazes me again and again.

Klipsch 2.1 FOR SURE

Honestly the best 2.1 Setup you could get . Bought mine approximately 5 years ago Refurbished yet it ran strong and Blasting rich bass for another 4 years until some drunk girl decided to blow them out.

I'd get a medium-high end pair of headphones.

Sennheiser PXC-310 (Noise-cancelling)
$300 retail ($400 for a bluetooth cordless version) $250 right now on Amazon.com

As a DJ for 14 years and long time member of head-fi society I think I can chime in here a little. Whoever said to go for BOSE, they either do not know anything about audio equipment or got brought into their marketing techniques.

BOSE is an expensive product specifically made to target individuals who doesn't know much about audio equipments.

For your money either go for Klipsch or Logitech. They would be most bang for your buck. Klipsch is definitely my choice for the value and the BOOM!

couldn't agree any more. bose stuff sucks. overpriced and doesn't sound near as good as many, many alternatives.
