I can try lol
You've taught? As a TA?

Anyway:

∂u(x1,x2)/∂x1 = (x1x2 +6.8)^53 + 11

then repeat for x2 (i.e., ∂u(x1,x2)/∂x2)

(I've just forgotten a lot of the rules. Finding partials is no problem, but when it's disguised like the example that I gave, I don't remember how to start).

Yea, I think the Mustang is faster...

The one thing Americans are good at is making cars that go fast in a straight line.

I would concur on the older american performance cars...but the newer ones, especially the mustang 5.0's are MUCH improved...

Google "2011 Mustang 5.0 vs. BMW M3", you will find examples of the new mustang going toe to toe with an M3 around the track. (stock vs stock)

They are extremely tunable partially due to the platform as well as the number of tuners out there supplying the market.

If they weren't so damn retro looking I would have one...I think the E9X is 100X more beautiful inside and out.

Yea, I've seen the video. I think the Mustang is able to keep up with the M3 because what it lacks in handling, it makes up with brute force. Put both cars on a track with limited straights and tons of twists and turns, and I think the M3 will come out on top.

The 5.0 is a great car, though. I'd like to drive one.

I wouldn't go that far. It isn't as refined as a BMW, but offers great performance for the price.

I think the Mustangs have come a long way in the last 5 years (or whenever the new "retro" body came out).

OMG. I just died.

I'm sitting outside at school, doing some work (by the lagoon for those familiar) and there is an elementary (I'm assuming - 5th grade, maybe?) class (on a field trip, I'm guessing) that is on the lower level (right by the lagoon) eating lunch. I guess it was time to go and the teachers are trying to gather all of students and I hear this:

Teacher(screaming at the kids): It's time to go!
No response
Teacher: Alejandro, let's go!
Alejandro: Fuck you!

Thats funny.

As far as the mustang goes. I drove it for 3 days. And when I drove it like I drive my M, it just felt unsafe...

FROM A POST ON THE HOMEPAGE -

What is the timeline for the next M3 sedan and coupe?
There won't be a next generation M3 introduced before the current M3 coupe and convertible end of production. [Note: read together with the answer directly above, that would mean that there will be no F80/F82 M3 (sedan/coupe) prior to mid-late 2013 at the earliest.]

So I guess Ill have to either buy my car out, or find something else for in between. Ugh.

Quoted from a friend:

so these are pretty simple
you basically are taking the derivative with respect to one variable
for instance, in the firs one, youre taking the derivative with respect to x1
which means you treat x2 as a constant
for instance if you had 5x1x2
your deriv would be 5x2
or if you had (5x1x2)^3

it woud be 250x2^3 x1^2
but basically youre treating these as the same as single variable derivatives
just pretending the other variable is a constant
