I think most people that do their exhausts do ceramic coating. Not sure how many people actually tried powdercoating and had no issues, but I haven't heard of any issues.
I am getting my Gintani ceramic coated black as well.

Yea I am pretty sure both are good options, I haven't heard any issues with either.
Either way, the exhaust needs to be clean (obviously). Easier to powdercoat or ceramic coat a new exhaust because there are no imperfections since it hasn't been used. That's why I ordered mine ceramic coated straight from Gintani. I'm looking forward to getting it this week and installing it over the weekend!

Ceramic Coating is the way to go! When we first brought out our exhaust systems, we tried powder coating. The systems looked great, until you actually start driving with them on. They started chipping and after awhile it was almost completely off. Not only does ceramic coating last heat much better it also helps keep the systems cool.
